As we inch toward the new season, the ever-changing NFL landscape has player fantasy values constantly on the move. Whether you’re used to the dynasty platform or are still learning the dynasty rules, let’s dive into the latest dynasty fantasy football value of running back Zamir White.
Zamir White’s Dynasty Outlook and Value
The Las Vegas Raiders drafted White in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL Draft. As a rookie, White didn’t matter at all, which isn’t all that uncommon for a Day 3 pick. He only got on the field for offensive snaps in 12 games last season, carrying the ball 17 times for 70 yards. That was the full extent of his production as a rookie.
While I don’t want to totally write White off after just one season in the NFL, it’s not looking good. Josh Jacobs was used as a three-down back and had the best season of his career. As a result, the Raiders made it a point to bring him back via the franchise tag. It would not surprise me if an extension is forthcoming.
With the Raiders trading Derek Carr, it was possible that 2023 would be a transitional year. If that was the case, it wouldn’t have made sense for them to bring Jacobs back, possibly giving White a shot at the starting job. Instead, Vegas replaced Carr with Jimmy Garoppolo, which indicates they’re trying to win now.
Zamir White’s Fantasy Ranking
Ultimately, White’s value was always going to be tethered to what happened with Jacobs. With Jacobs back, White’s fantasy value is completely gone. He’ll be an uncertain handcuff.
The thing is, even if Jacobs were to leave (or leaves in 2024), it doesn’t guarantee White will be the lead back in 2023 and beyond. White was unable to surpass Brandon Bolden and Ameer Abdullah on the Raiders’ depth chart. Yes, the other two play special teams, but so did White.
Additionally, White is just a two-down grinder. In three years at Georgia, he caught just 17 total passes. At best, White could become a poor man’s Brian Robinson. That’s not exactly the ceiling you want.

Consider White nothing more than a long-term RB5, at best. We currently have him at RB61 (No. 194 overall) in our dynasty Superflex rankings.
If you have White, the best course of action is likely to hold. I can’t imagine anyone is out there willing to give you anything of value in exchange for him. As a result, you might as well hang onto White and see what happens, but he’s not someone I’d be looking at in dynasty startup drafts.
