As we inch toward the new season, the ever-changing NFL landscape has player fantasy values constantly on the move. Whether you’re used to the dynasty platform or are still learning the rules, let’s dive into the latest dynasty fantasy football value of Kyren Williams.
Kyren Williams’ Dynasty Outlook and Value
Part of the hype surrounding Williams last season was the wide-open backfield. That came to a grinding halt when Williams suffered a high ankle sprain on his first career regular-season snap on special teams.
With Cam Akers struggling, though, the excitement for Williams’ return increased. There was potential for him to take over the backfield, and he was given the opportunity.

After being eased in when he returned in Week 10, Williams played 55% of the snaps in Week 11 and 70% in Week 12. Williams totaled 44 and 60 yards in those games, respectively. His performance wasn’t good enough, though, as the aforementioned Akers’ revival began in Week 13.
Williams scored nine fantasy points in Week 12. He didn’t score a total of nine fantasy points the rest of the season, and by Week 15, his snap share had fallen under 10%.
Kyren Williams’ Fantasy Ranking
Unfortunately, Williams is unlikely to ever matter — at least not on purpose. We’ve seen plenty of no-name running backs get chances based on injuries, but rarely do they stick.
Williams was a fifth-round pick in last year’s draft. Part of why he fell deep into Day 3 was horrendous athletic measurables. Williams ran a 4.65 40-yard dash. His speed and burst scores were in the bottom percentiles. He’s slow, unathletic, and buried on his team’s depth chart.
The one thing Williams has going for him is his receiving ability. Williams caught 77 passes over his final two college seasons. His highest collegiate target share came in 2020 when he saw 13.3% of his team’s targets. Perhaps he can carve out a role as a satellite back. But if that were likely, his situation as a rookie couldn’t have been better (the injury notwithstanding).
Williams currently sits at RB67 (No. 209 overall) in our dynasty Superflex rankings. Fantasy managers can hang onto Williams for now, just to see how this backfield plays out. But don’t be afraid to cut him loose if he opens the season as the team’s RB3 or worse. Williams is not someone I’d look to select in dynasty startup drafts.
