As we inch toward the new season, the ever-changing NFL landscape has player fantasy values constantly on the move. Whether you’re used to the dynasty platform or are still learning the dynasty rules, let’s dive into the latest dynasty fantasy football value of Tennessee Titans WR Treylon Burks.
Treylon Burks’ Dynasty Outlook and Value
At one point prior to the 2022 NFL Draft, Burks was the consensus WR1 of the class. However, draft consensus started to sour a bit on Burks after his poor Combine performance. Nevertheless, he still wound up being a first-round pick, but it’s fair to call him quite the polarizing prospect.
As a rookie, Burks couldn’t have asked for a weaker depth chart to climb. He also couldn’t have asked for a worse offensive situation for a wide receiver. It all makes Burks’ rookie season a challenge to evaluate. Where you stand on Burks’ fantasy value largely depends on where you were on him as a prospect.
Production-wise, Burks didn’t get there. We want at least 500 receiving yards from rookie wide receivers, and he fell short — catching just 33 balls for 444 yards and averaging 8.6 fantasy points per game.
It’s worth noting Burks missed six games, but the receiving-yardage threshold takes that into account. Between the poor athletic testing at the Combine and the underwhelming rookie year, it wouldn’t be a shock if Burks’ actual value never matched his perceived value.

Burks opened the season firmly behind Robert Woods and Nick Westbrook-Ikhine. When he was just about to start getting on the field more, he got hurt. After returning from IR, Burks needed one game to get reacclimated to football and then looked like the ship was about to leave the station. In Weeks 11 and 12, Burks posted 18.1 and 17 fantasy points, respectively. Then, in Week 13, he got hurt again.
When Burks returned for the season’s final three games, he wasn’t anywhere near as productive. But it’s encouraging that he played clear starter-level snaps.
Burks did post a respectable 23.8% targets-per-route-run rate, which was just outside the top 30. Unfortunately, he only averaged 20.6 routes run per game. Of course, part of that was his offense. Tennessee only passed the ball 50% of the time in neutral game script, the seventh-lowest rate in the NFL.
Treylon Burks’ Fantasy Ranking
Heading into the 2023 season, Burks will be the Titans’ WR1 and have every opportunity to truly break out. But there are questions not only about his talent but also about Tennessee’s situation.
There’s a QB shortage in the NFL, but Ryan Tannehill is not the answer and neither is Malik Willis. Burks is only 23 years old, so the Titans have plenty of time to figure this out. It may be a couple of years before they do, however, and that could seriously hinder Burks’ upside.
Given my pre-NFL assessment of Burks, combined with his rookie year performance and team situation, I’m more bearish on Burks than most. I don’t agree with WR23 (No. 62 overall) ranking in our dynasty Superflex rankings. There are several guys near or below him that I would prefer. If you can trade Burks for someone like Jerry Jeudy, Diontae Johnson, or Marquise “Hollywood” Brown plus, I’d make that move.
It probably goes without saying that I’m not interested in Burks in dynasty startup drafts. There will be instances where fading sophomore receivers like him ends up looking foolish. However, on a macro level, if I blanket fade wide receivers with rookie years like Burks’, I will be on the right side far more often than not.
