As we close in toward the new season, the ever-changing NFL landscape has player fantasy values constantly on the move, with key events like free agency and the 2023 NFL Draft still to come. Whether you’re used to the dynasty platform or are still learning the rules, let’s dive into the latest dynasty fantasy football value of RB J.K. Dobbins.
J.K. Dobbins Dynasty Outlook and Value
Dobbins was one of the highest-valued RBs in dynasty following his rookie campaign, when he set a league-high in yards per attempt, but that value took a significant hit. Dobbins tore his ACL and damaged other ligaments in the 2021 preseason and missed the entire season. That recovery carried into the 2022 season with videos popping up of Dobbins running/training with a clearly injury-hampered gate.
When he finally made his debut in Week 3, that awkwardness remained. Dobbins would play sparingly over the next four weeks, recording 35 carries for 123 yards (3.5 ypc) with one score but lacked the explosiveness in his game we saw last time he was on the field.
Dobbins made the decision to have a second procedure to clean up his knee, and while it did knock him out until Week 14, it was clearly the correct call.

Dobbins regained a ton of momentum, seeing double-digit carries in all four games (60% RB rush share), rushing 57 times for 397 yards, and averaging 99.3 yards per game thanks to a 120-yard outing in Week 14 against the Steelers, 125 yards in Week 15 against Cleveland, and 93 yards against Pittsburgh again in Week 17.
Dobbins was the RB19 over this span for fantasy and sat 25th in points per game at 11.8 PPR, largely due to scoring just one touchdown and catching only two passes (three targets) for three yards. His lack of passing-game involvement is an issue in PPR dynasty formats, as it doesn’t allow Dobbins to have the same ceiling as others around him, even if he is the better pure rusher.
From a fit standpoint, Baltimore is an A1 spot, given their desire to run the ball. Even with Gus Edwards seeing around 10 attempts per game, Dobbins carries a high-rush floor, which gives him a desirable weekly floor even if his value is that of an RB2 and not a top-10 player.
J.K. Dobbins Fantasy Ranking
Dobbins is a player I would actively buy in dynasty. I don’t see any reason for Baltimore to add a player who could rival Dobbins for the touch lead. And being two years removed from his injury, I expect to see Dobbins back to full strength with his explosiveness back in 2023.
When looking at the current rankings, Dobbins is a bit of a value as the RB18 in PPR formats as a mid-RB2 which I felt was fair given some of the concerns some still have. Additionally, Dobbins is the 55th overall player in Superflex formats, where QBs gain value due to positional scarcity.
Dobbins has two years remaining on his contract with the Ravens, and assuming health and production trends in positive directions, I would foresee an extension coming down the line.
While not someone I want as an RB1, Dobbins is a solid RB2 to acquire while managers are focusing on the incoming rookie talent at the position. Rushing is the lifeblood of the Ravens’ offense, and that will not change. With Dobbins healthy, I expect to see his value rise back toward the upper end of the RB2 range in 2023.
