Rachaad White Dynasty Profile: Fantasy Outlook, Value, Projections, and Rankings

After an inefficient rookie season, what does Rachaad White's future look like, and what is his value in dynasty fantasy football leagues going forward?

As we inch toward the new season, the ever-changing NFL landscape has player fantasy values constantly on the move. Whether you’re used to the dynasty platform or are still learning the rules, let’s dive into the latest dynasty fantasy football value of Rachaad White.

Rachaad White’s Dynasty Outlook and Value

First and foremost, White is 24 years old. That’s pretty old for a sophomore running back, but there’s no concern with wear and tear. He’s got plenty of tread left on those tires.

White averaged 8.2 ppg as a rookie. He also averaged a sub-30% snap share for the first nine weeks of the season. Once the Tampa Bay Buccaneers started integrating White into the offense, he wound up overtaking Leonard Fournette as the starter. In games where Fournette was healthy, White was playing around 40-45% of the snaps. The two alternated drives, completely sharing the backfield.

Had White played well, we would have every reason to believe this backfield could have become something like a 65/35 split in his favor, even if Fournette were still around in 2023. Unfortunately, White was just as inefficient as Fournette.

White averaged 3.7 yards per carry and ran for 15+ yards just 3.1% of the time (outside the top 40). His evaded-tackles-per-touch rate was 22%, barely better than Fournette, and his 4.3 yards per touch was worse than Fournette’s.

With that said, Fournette is gone. For now, that puts White in the driver’s seat for the team’s RB1 role. But several questions remain.

How valuable with that role be with possibly Kyle Trask as the starting quarterback? Will White maintain a strong passing game role? Will he be the clear RB1 or part of a timeshare? Who else will the Bucs bring in at running back? There are several questions surrounding White’s future, to which we may not know the answer for a few months.

    Rachaad White’s Fantasy Ranking

Frankly, I don’t believe White is an NFL-caliber starting running back. At best, he’s a weak satellite back, and he’s someone whose perceived value is likely greater than his actual value. That will be especially so if the inevitable Tom Brady successor doesn’t check it down nearly as often as Brady did.

White is not someone I’d be looking to acquire in dynasty leagues. I believe his current dynasty value is as high as it will ever be. We have him at RB23 (No. 78 overall) in our latest dynasty Superflex rankings. If I had him, I would try and find a manager out there who values White as a mid-RB2 or better and move him.

In dynasty startup drafts, my interest in White would be purely to leverage his perceived potential against other managers. For that reason, he wouldn’t be a full fade, but if I did end up drafting White, it would not be because I wanted to keep him on my team.
