2023 NFL Mock Draft: Quentin Johnston, Jordan Addison, Bijan Robinson, and More

In our latest 2023 NFL Mock Draft, we examine the fantasy football implications of how the first three rounds could shake out.

In our latest 2023 NFL Mock Draft, we consider the fantasy football implications of how the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft may play out. Whether you do your rookie fantasy drafts before or after the actual draft, a key part of the research and decision-making is considering potential landing spots and what those mean for the value of players as rookies and beyond.

Latest 2023 NFL Mock Draft: Fantasy Football Implications of Round 1

The analysis in this mock is based on contract situations as of the first week of January. It does not consider where pending free agents may sign and how that may impact the needs of the 32 NFL teams. Accordingly, we will be doing at least one more fantasy football implication mock draft between now and the weekend of the draft.

    1) Chicago Bears: Will Anderson Jr., EDGE | Alabama

In all likelihood, we will see this pick traded by the Chicago Bears, but in this mock, we have not done any trades. The Bears seem unlikely to go for a QB with Justin fields. Therefore, in this scenario, there are a couple of potential options at EDGE for the Bears if that is the direction they decide to go. With Khalil Mack and Robert Quinn gone in the last 12 months, either Will Anderson Jr. or Myles Murphy is in play here.

In terms of their fantasy value in IDP leagues, a lot will depend on where these EDGE prospects get drafted and the scheme they end up playing in. For example, Aidan Hutchison was drafted by the Detroit Lions, classed as a defensive end, and finished 26th at the position in terms of PPG as a rookie. In contrast, Kayvon Thibodeaux, who was classed as a linebacker on the New York Giants, averaged more PPG than Hutchison but finished as the LB60 in PPG.

For the Bears’, this is tricky. They used both 4-3 and 3-4 concepts last year, so their positional assignment could vary from league to league. Before selecting EDGE players in your rookie draft, check out your league’s specific rules.

    2) Houston Texans: Bryce Young, QB | Alabama

The Houston Texans targeting a QB with their first selection feels locked in at this point in the process. They may need to move up if it is Young that they covet, but in this no-trade mock, they get him second overall. They have other holes on their roster, but there is not a slam-dunk option that makes sense to fill those other needs at this point. In this mock, it is Bryce Young out of Alabama they select, but after his performance in the College Football Playoffs, there is a case to be made this could be C.J. Stroud.

From a fantasy perspective, the arrival of either Young or Stroud in Houston is intriguing right out of the gate of the 2023 season. Both would have a great chance to be a Day 1 starter as a rookie and would provide an intriguing post to the passing-game weapons. Heading into the offseason, Nico Collins presents an intriguing value with the potential combination of an upgrade at QB and the departure of Brandin Cooks.

    3) Arizona Cardinals: Kelee Ringo, CB | Georgia

The Arizona Cardinals are a strange team to judge this year because they are unlikely to chase QB or WR, which are the premium options at the top of this draft. They could go for OL, but with Byron Murphy a free agent, they really need to restock their CB options, bringing Kelee Ringo into play, even if the price may be a touch high.

Generally, in IDP leagues, cornerbacks can be the most volatile. Their value changes significantly depending on whether your league uses CB positions specifically or the more general DB designation. In DB designation leagues, Ringo would not be a high priority in rookie drafts. Even in leagues with a CB designation, the week-to-week variation of the position makes it tough to take him much higher than the fourth round.

    4) Indianapolis Colts: C.J. Stroud, QB | Ohio State

If the Indianapolis Colts can sit at four and get either Stroud or Young, they will be delighted. With two fantastic prospects at the top of the draft and a handful of teams with needs at the position, expect someone to look to move up, meaning the Colts may have to consider doing the same.

Stroud’s potential in this offense is intriguing. The Colts need to solidify a couple of spots on their offensive line to support him, but he has top-20 QB upside as a rookie in this offense. Of course, some of that will also depend on who the head coach ends up being. Adding Stroud would also provide a boost to the value of Michael Pittman Jr. and Alec Pierce while taking some of the attention away from Jonathan Taylor.

    5) Seattle Seahawks (from DEN): Myles Murphy, EDGE | Clemson

In this scenario, I have assumed that the Seattle Seahawks find a solution at QB, be it Geno Smith or another veteran option. I don’t believe that Pete Carroll is ready to embark on the journey of developing a rookie quarterback. Instead, I have them selecting whichever top EDGE option the Bears do not take.

The Seahawks’ base defense last year was more of a 3-4 scheme, but they did run 4-3 on occasions. Therefore, Myles Murphy could be assigned either a DL or LB designation. He carries far more consistent value as a rookie if he is classed as a DL rather than as an LB.

    6) Detroit Lions (from LAR): Anthony Richardson, QB | Florida

The Detroit Lions’ offseason is going to revolve heavily around what they decide to do with Jared Goff. They could cut him and save $20.65 million in cap space, but Goff has done a really nice job leading this team, helping them go 7-2 down the stretch and into playoff contention. Therefore, rather than start again at QB, we could see Detroit willing to ride the Goff-coaster for one more year.

The debate then would be to continue building the roster around him or spend one of their first-round picks on securing a high-upside option at the position. In this mock, I have them taking a project QB in Anthony Richardson, out of Florida.

As a fantasy option, Richardson would be an extremely exciting player in rookie drafts. He has been compared to Josh Allen and has the combined passing and rushing upside to have the potential of a top-10 fantasy asset at QB in the future. His value would be limited by the fact he could require a couple of years of development, but in Superflex leagues, he could be a first-round option in rookie drafts.

    7) Las Vegas Raiders: Will Levis, QB | Kentucky

With the Las Vegas Raiders seemingly set to part ways with Derek Carr, they could be in the market for a first-round QB option that Josh McDaniels can develop. Will Levis divides opinions over his value, but if the Raiders are targeting QB, Levis is the best option left on the board. If the Raiders cannot find the right veteran option in free agency, then Levis could be a Day 1 starter.

There will likely be some growing pains with Levis, and we saw McDaniels be cautious with Mac Jones as a rookie. That would limit Levis’ 2023 upside, but with potential weapons such as Davante Adams, Darren Waller, and Hunter Renfrow, the Raiders’ offense is a better environment for a young QB than New England was for Jones. Levis would be a second-round rookie draft option in Superflex and a third or fourth-round option at best in 1QB leagues.

    8) Atlanta Falcons: Paris Johnson Jr., OT | Ohio State

You could make the case for the Atlanta Falcons looking at several positions on their roster, even at QB if the right option is there for them in the first round. However, if they do not look to QB, then both offensive tackle and cornerback could be in play. Who they select could depend on what the Cardinals do at No. 4, as they have a similar pair of choices. In this draft, Ringo is gone, so the Falcons take Paris Johnson Jr. to shore up their OL.

In terms of the fantasy impact, adding Johnson can be a boost to this offense across the board. Desmond Ridder and the running game would be the big winners, as Johnson is the type of athletic option they can use in a variety of ways on the ground. He can also help boost the passing game, which could see both Drake London and Kyle Pitts receive an uptick in value heading into next season.

    9) Carolina Panthers: Noah Sewell, LB | Oregon

The Carolina Panthers are a candidate to move up and grab a QB, but if they cannot manage that, they may look to continue building their young defense. Noah Sewell is a fantastic option here and could be a regular contributor to this defense.

Sewell may not be an every-down option in Year 1, but with Shaq Thompson and Frankie Luvu set to be free agents in 2024, he could be in that role pretty quickly. In IDP drafts, that makes Sewell an intriguing first-round selection who could be a regular, consistent producer for the Panthers and fantasy managers.

    10) Philadelphia Eagles (from NO): Jalen Carter, DT | Georgia

The Philadelphia Eagles love a defensive line prospect, they have Fletcher Cox and Javon Hargrave as pending free agents, and this is superb value on Jalen Carter. Carter could be a part of the Eagles’ DT rotation as a rookie before taking on a more consistent role after that. Combining Carter with Jordan Davis could make for a really high-upside pairing in the center of that defense.

From a fantasy perspective, DTs are never high on the priority list. However, this fit should make Carter the first DT off the board. He’ll be a third- or fourth-round option at best, but if your league puts a premium on DT play, Carter has extremely high upside.

    11) Tennessee Titans: Quentin Johnston, WR | TCU

The Tennessee Titans have a lot of holes to fill this offseason. That means they could go in a lot of directions. They need to make their offense more versatile regardless of whether it is Ryan Tannehill, Malik Willis, or someone else under center. Putting Quentin Johnston alongside Treylon Burks and Robert Woods would give the Titans a really exciting receiving trio.

The landing spot here is not ideal for Johnston’s fantasy value. Neither Tannehill nor Willis offer high-upside passing potential, and Johnston would be fighting for targets with Burks and Woods. We have yet to see this offense support two WR options for fantasy purposes consistently, and that’s not changing without drastic changes in Tennessee.

If Johnston winds up in Tennessee, it’d be hard to view him as anything more than a second-round option in rookie drafts this year.

    12) Houston Texans (from CLE): Jordan Addison, WR | USC

If Brandin Cooks is gone from Houston, then a combination of Young throwing the ball to Nico Collins and Jordan Addison would be extremely exciting. The Texans have other areas to look at with this second pick in the first round, and the ideal option would be OL, but I don’t love any of the options available here.

Addison could be in line for a lot of targets as a rookie, but we need to see how the coaching situation shapes out to be sure what the offense will look like. Assuming Houston doesn’t go for a coordinator that will operate a run-heavy scheme, there could be plenty of opportunity here. That would make Addison a mid-to-late first-round option in rookie drafts.

    13) New York Jets: Joey Porter Jr., CB | Penn State

This part of this 2023 NFL mock draft is where things get a little tricky. Balancing team needs and value at this point is tough. The Jets’ biggest needs are actually on their interior offensive line, but with the value not there right now, they could look to add more talent at CB.

Joey Porter Jr. is one of a number of options if they go that way, but he gets the edge over the others here. Playing opposite Ahmad Gardner could mean Porter sees a lot of targets, which can result in consistent fantasy value.

    14) New England Patriots: Jaxon Smith-Njigba, WR | Ohio State

While the New England Patriots have needs on their defense, they really need to get Jones some help at WR. Jakobi Meyers could leave in free agency, while the other veteran options in this offense are middling at best. Adding a player with the talent of Jaxon Smith-Njigba would make for a fun offense if Tyquan Thornton continues to develop as well.

While I love Smith-Njigba from a talent perspective, trusting any WR in the Patriots’ offense is hard to do. Getting consistency from the group has been tough, but Smith-Njigba could be a step up from Meyers. In this landing spot, Smith-Njigba is worth an early second-round selection in rookie drafts.

    15) Green Bay Packers: Kayshon Boutte, WR | LSU

While the Green Bay Packers have seemingly found a gem in Christian Watson, they could still benefit from adding top-tier receiving talent to this offense. Both Allen Lazard and Randall Cobb are free agents this offseason, so adding Kayshon Boutte would give Aaron Rodgers three exciting pass catchers in Watson, Boutte, and Romeo Doubs.

Boutte’s talent will make him an intriguing option in rookie drafts. The Packers’ offense has stuttered this year, but we have seen the upside it can contain with the streak Watson had. Rodgers is not the QB he once was, but give him a top-tier talent at WR, and it can hide a lot of issues. Boutte is a player that would have first-round value in rookie drafts after landing in Green Bay.

    16) Washington Commanders: Cam Smith, CB | South Carolina

The Washington Commanders’ offense also could do with help on the interior of their offensive line, but again, the value is not there. Therefore, they could also look to bolster their defense, with both linebacker and cornerback among the options. Cam Smith is the choice here, and I give him a slight edge over linebacker Trenton Simpson from a positional value perspective.

When it comes to fantasy consideration, Smith would be a relatively low-priority option in drafts. In leagues where DBs are grouped, he does not even definitively command drafting consideration. In formats with CBs, Smith could be worth a late-round selection, especially if you could stash him on a taxi squad.

    17) Pittsburgh Steelers: Peter Skoronski, OT | Northwestern

The Pittsburgh Steelers have considerations all over their defense, but the offense is the primary concern. They could easily go for Simpson here to replace Devin Bush, but the idea of adding value to their offense by bolstering the OL is also exciting. Peter Skoronski is the top option if that is the way they go. He could really boost the value of this offense, especially for Najee Harris, who has struggled behind mediocre offensive line play.

    18) Detroit Lions: Bryan Bresee, DT | Clemson

There are plenty of avenues in play for the Lions with this pick. Linebacker, safety, and cornerback are all considerations, but adding an interior defensive line option in Bryan Bresee is enticing. From a fantasy perspective, though, this pick is unexciting, with Bresee likely nothing more than a late-round selection in IDP formats.

    19) Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Tyree Wilson, EDGE | Texas Tech

With salary cap issues and uncertainty at QB, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ offseason will be fascinating. They have a number of spots on their defense that will need attention this offseason. This has been a team that prides itself on its ability to dominate in the trenches. Reinforcing those trenches with a talented option like Tyree Wilson could be the route we see the Buccaneers take.

As with the other EDGE players, Wilson’s value will depend on how each site categorizes him. If he gets the DL tag, then Wilson could be intriguing in a defense that has seen Shaquil Barrett and Joe Tryon-Shoyinka play well.

    20) Seattle Seahawks: Brian Branch, S | Alabama

While the Seahawks have Quandre Diggs, Ryan Neal, and Jamal Adams on their roster, they have looked to bolster the safety position at times this year. They added Jonathan Abram, who will be a free agent this year, so they could benefit from adding a chess piece like Brian Branch. The Alabama rookie can work into the defense in different sets and grow into a starting role among a veteran safety group.

Usually, when we look to safety options in fantasy, we want a player that can be an asset against the run. Branch is solid in that area, but playing in the box is not likely to be his primary role. That limits his fantasy value in IDP rookie drafts.

    21) Jacksonville Jaguars: Broderick Jones, OT | Georgia

The Jacksonville Jaguars have a need on their offensive line, with Jawaan Taylor set to become a free agent. Broderick Jones could be an immediate starter, providing solid work in both phases of the offense. His presence could prevent any downgrade that might come with the loss of Taylor if he leaves as a free agent.

    22) New York Giants: Trenton Simpson, LB | Clemson

The New York Giants desperately need to bolster their inside linebacker options this offseason. Trenton Simpson would be a nice fit and could immediately become an every-down LB option. If that becomes the case, Simpson would be a priority option to target in IDP rookie drafts in 2023.

    23) Baltimore Ravens: Clark Phillips III, CB | Utah

This offseason is going to be really interesting for the Baltimore Ravens. They have a lot of balls in the air, and how they juggle them leading into free agency will shape the future when it comes to the draft. Wide receiver and cornerback are two glaring needs, and Clark Phillips III might very well be the choice with Marcus Peters, and Kyle Fuller set to become free agents.

In terms of fantasy, the same applies to the CB situation here as previously discussed. Phillips would be a hard player to trust for consistency as a CB, so his value would be close to non-existent in leagues with a general DB slot, though he’d be worthy of late-round consideration in leagues with CB slots.

    24) Los Angeles Chargers: Anton Harrison, OT | Oklahoma

There are plenty of directions the Los Angeles Chargers could look to go in with this pick. The emergence of Joshua Palmer means the need for a first-round WR is reduced, and while the value isn’t ideal for OT, that is arguably the biggest need. Anton Harrison, out of Oklahoma, could make for a solid bookend option opposite Rashawn Slater.

While Harrison doesn’t have any direct fantasy value, he does help bolster the Chargers’ offensive options. Getting consistent play out of the right tackle position would be huge for Justin Herbert, and Harrison could improve the running game. Austin Ekeler is a superb fantasy asset already, and his value could only increase if he gets more consistent blocking.

    25) Dallas Cowboys: Bijan Robinson, RB | Texas

We go from fantasy uncertainty to extreme relevance with the Dallas Cowboys’ selection of Bijan Robinson at the back end of the first round. With Tony Pollard set to be a free agent this offseason and Ezekiel Elliott being 12 months away from no longer presenting a financial black hole if they cut him, now is the time to reinforce the position. Additionally, keeping a Texas college star in the state could be enticing for Cowboys’ owner Jerry Jones, from a marketing perspective.

In terms of fantasy, this would be a fantastic long-term landing spot for Robinson. As a rookie, he would likely share the backfield with Elliott, but from 2024 on, he could be the number one guy. We have seen how lead-backs can have a lot of fantasy value in the Cowboys’ offense, so Robinson would be a high first-round selection in this landing spot.

    26) Cincinnati Bengals: Antonio Johnson, S | Texas A&M

The majority of the Cincinnati Bengals’ needs are in the secondary, with considerations at CB and at safety. They could go either way, and the direction will depend on what combination of Von Bell, Jessie Bates III, and Eli Apple they bring back this year.

The best available safety at this point is Antonio Johnson, who could replace either Bell or Bates while seeing time covering the slot early in his career. Johnson can be used all over the field, and his potential to play in the box in run support makes him an intriguing mid-round IDP option in rookie drafts.

    27) Minnesota Vikings: Christian Gonzalez, CB | Oregon

The Vikings have a few different areas to consider, but cornerback really stands out. They have many contributors set to become free agents this offseason, leaving them needing to address the position in multiple ways this offseason. Christian Gonzalez could be a good fit, as he has the potential to step in as an outside starter in his rookie year.

The same CB analysis as before applies here. While Gonzalez is a solid player, the lack of consistency from the CB position means his fantasy value is extremely limited.

    28) Denver Broncos (from SF): BJ Ojulari, EDGE | LSU

The Denver Broncos moved on from Bradley Chubb this season, opening a need in their pass-rushing department. There are a few ways they could go positionally, especially with regard to their offensive line, but keeping the defense strong is important. A player with the talent of BJ Ojulari is a versatile option that could fit nicely into the Broncos’ offense opposite Randy Gregory.

Unfortunately, in this defense, Ojulari would almost certainly have LB eligibility in most leagues, limiting his fantasy value. In this fit, it would be hard to view Ojulari as anything more than a late-round option in IDP rookie drafts.

    29) Buffalo Bills: O’Cyrus Torrence, G | Florida

When it comes to the Buffalo Bills’ offense, there will be some intriguing decisions to be made, especially on their OL, but LB and safety present needs as well. With a ton of players set to be free agents on the OL, O’Cyrus Torrence would make for a nice fit with a late first-round selection. This could be a spot the Bills look to trade out of to let someone take a chance on QB Hendon Hooker, but if they stay, grabbing the best-rated guard makes a lot of sense.

The Bills reinforcing the interior of their offensive line would really help the value of James Cook. With Devin Singletary set to be a free agent this offseason, Cook could lead the backfield. However, uncertainty over the future of this offensive line is a concern. The addition of Torrence would help secure that value for Cook.

    30) Kansas City Chiefs: Josh Downs, WR | North Carolina

The Kansas City Chiefs need to find an outside receiving option that can be a replacement for Tyreek Hill. The arrivals of JuJu Smith-Schuster and Marquez Valdes-Scantling didn’t provide that, so an option like Josh Downs could be a sensible draft target. While he does not have the same top-end speed as Hill, Downs can create separation and break defenses with his ability after the catch.

If Downs does end up in Kansas City, he will be a hot property in fantasy drafts. We saw the boost in projected value that Skyy Moore got when he was selected by the Chiefs. Downs would likely be a fringe first-round option if this plays out, which is perhaps a little overpriced. However, the potential would make him a nice value in the middle of the second round.

    31) Philadelphia Eagles: Jahmyr Gibbs, RB | Alabama

There are various needs spotted all over the Eagles’ roster, but none of them are “major” needs. With the interior of the defensive line addressed earlier in this 2023 NFL mock draft, they could use their second selection of the round to draft a replacement for Miles Sanders in the form of Jahmyr Gibbs.

If Gibbs does end up in Philadelphia, he could be an every-down back in an offense that we expect to be productive once again. Gibbs’ potential is off the charts, and this landing spot could make him the number one overall selection in 2023 rookie drafts.

2023 NFL Mock Draft: Round 2

    32) Pittsburgh Steelers (from CHI): Henry To’oTo’o, LB | Alabama

Devin Bush is set to be a free agent this offseason, so Henry To’oTo’o could be an immediate replacement. He may not be an every-down linebacker in 2023, but he has the potential to grow into a major role, making him an intriguing fantasy option this year.

    33) Houston Texans: Isaiah Foskey, EDGE | Notre Dame

The Texans have a lot of upcoming free agents when it comes to their pass rush. Isaiah Foskey could be an immediate contributor for the Texans in 2023. Initially, he would likely be a rotational piece but could see heavy usage in 2024, making him a potential taxi squad stash.

    34) Arizona Cardinals: Derick Hall, EDGE | Auburn

An original version of this article had Jared Verse as this selection before he opted to return to school

The Cardinals’ defensive front needs to improve in 2023 and beyond. Derick Hall would be an exciting part of that as a rotational piece and would allow Arizona to be flexible with their pass rush.

    35) Indianapolis Colts: JL Skinner, S | Boise State

The Colts have several spots in their secondary opening up in the next couple of offseasons. JL Skinner is a player who can come in and push to start in 2023. He could be an intriguing late-round rookie draft option in deeper leagues.

    36) Los Angeles Rams: Michael Mayer, TE | Notre Dame

With Tyler Higbee and Brycen Hopkins both set to be free agents in 2024, the tight end position is one to watch in Los Angeles. Michael Mayer could be a player they develop next season who can step in and start in 2024. He is an upside option in the late second round of rookie drafts.

    37) Seattle Seahawks (from DEN): Gervon Dexter, DT | Florida

Seattle has a lot of interior defensive line contributors potentially heading to free agency in the next couple of seasons. Getting a talented player in the form of Gervon Dexter is a great way to reinforce the unit.

    38) Las Vegas Raiders: Eli Ricks, CB | Alabama

The CB position is a significant issue for the Raiders, and Eli Ricks could help solve some of the holes in their secondary. There is not much fantasy value here, but he could be a good addition for the Raiders.

    39) Carolina Panthers: Hendon Hooker, QB | Tennessee

It is a tricky situation for the Panthers at QB. They should be among the teams looking to trade up in the first round, but if they don’t, Hendon Hooker is a fantastic option at this point in this 2023 mock draft. His ability to make plays with his legs makes him a high-upside fantasy option in the third round of 1QB leagues.

    40) New Orleans Saints: Rashee Rice, WR | SMU

It looks like Michael Thomas’ career in New Orleans might be over, so the New Orleans Saints need to continue adding receiving options. Rashee Rice is an intriguing addition, and, with this landing spot, could be a solid late-second-round option who could contribute as a rookie.

    41) Tennessee Titans: Emmanuel Forbes, CB | Mississippi State

Tennesse has really struggled with its pass defense at times this season. Emmanuel Forbes has a chance to push for a starting role as a rookie and provide some longer-term stability.

    42) Cleveland Browns: John Michael Schmitz, OC | Minnesota

The only real gap in the Cleveland Browns offensive line is at center, and John Michael Schmitz can fill it to give Deshaun Watson a long-term center to develop with.

    43) New York Jets: Jordan Battle, S | Alabama

With the Jets continuing to develop their secondary, the safety position has a lot of potential openings in the next two offseasons. Jordan Battle can be a very valuable option and could be a nice fantasy asset as a later-round selection.

    44) Atlanta Falcons: Felix Anudike-Uzomah, EDGE | Kansas State

The Falcons need more difference-makers on defense, and Felix Anudike-Uzomah can be exactly that for this team. His role will likely be a rotational one for the first year or two, and his real-life value will be bigger than his fantasy value.

    45) Green Bay Packers: Matthew Bergeron, OT | Syracuse

David Bakhtiari hasn’t managed to get healthy, and the Packers may decide to start preparing in case he cannot be a reliable option. Matthew Bergeron can be a future replacement for them at left tackle and back up Bakhtiari in the meantime.

    46) New England Patriots: Darnell Wright, OT | Tennessee

Things have not worked out for Isaiah Wynn in New England. The Patriots’ offense, especially the run game, has continued to operate, but adding Darnell Wright could allow the Patriots to transition to a new left tackle for 2023.

    47) Washington Commanders: Tommy Eichenberg, LB | Ohio State

The trio of Cole Holcomb, David Mayo, and Jon Bostic are all set to be free agents this offseason. That could mean we see Tommy Eichenberg as a starter in Washington, which could also have a benefit in terms of fantasy value.

    48) Detroit Lions: Darnell Washington, TE | Georgia

T.J. Hockenson is gone, and while Brock Wright and Shane Zylstra have been solid in his absence, the Lions could still do well to add a premier option at tight end to complete their offense. Darnell Washington would provide that while also adding to other elements of the offense with his skill set. In this landing spot, he is an intriguing late-second or early-third-round option in rookie drafts.

    49) Pittsburgh Steelers: Cedric Tillman, WR | Tennessee

With Chase Claypool departing, there is room for the Steelers to add another WR option in Cedric Tillman. His fantasy value will likely be limited and inconsistent in this landing spot, so he shouldn’t be a high priority in rookie drafts.

    50) Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Siaki Ika, DT | Baylor

The Buccaneers continue to rebuild their defense through the defensive line in the second round of this 2023 NFL mock draft. They have five players on their current roster heading to free agency, so Siaki Ika could provide depth at the position behind Vita Vea and Logan Hall.

    51) Jacksonville Jaguars: Calijah Kancey, DT | Pittsburgh

It is always good to have depth when it comes to the defensive line rotation, and the Jaguars get that in Calijah Kancey. With the talent around him, he will have time to grow into a role where he can be a starter in 2024.

    52) Miami Dolphins: Sedrick Van Pran, C | Georgia

The Miami Dolphins need to focus on improving their offensive line if they really want this offense to click. Sedrick Van Pran could be a Week 1 starter as a rookie and provide stability to the center of the offensive line.

    53) Seattle Seahawks: Zay Flowers, WR | Boston College

DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett give the Seahawks a solid pair of receivers under contract for the next few years. However, their offense has lacked effectiveness when those two have gone down, so adding a talent like Zay Flowers would give them a third contributor. Unfortunately, this landing spot would reduce Flowers’ fantasy potential significantly.

    54) New York Giants: Sean Tucker, RB | Syracuse

Regardless of whether the Giants bring back Saquon Barkley, they still need more talent at RB. Sean Tucker is an exciting option who can make plays to take the pressure off Barkley and prevent the touches from piling up.

    55) Chicago Bears (from BAL): Jaelyn Duncan, OT | Maryland

The Bears need to continue working on their offensive line. With Riley Reiff set to head to free agency, they need to add someone that can provide depth, and Jaelyn Duncan is the man for the job in this mock. He has the talent to push for starter snaps and improve this offense.

    56) Los Angeles Chargers: Nolan Smith, EDGE | Georgia

While the Chargers have Joey Bosa and Khalil Mack, they need more depth when it comes to their pass rush. Nolan Smith offers that in abundance, and this is a nice value for him in this 2023 NFL mock draft.

    57) Dallas Cowboys: Cooper Beebe, G | Kansas State

The Cowboys need to continue working on their offensive line. Cooper Beebe can be a really nice addition who can help improve this line from strong to stronger. His addition could be helpful for retaining Elliott’s fantasy value.

    58) Cincinnati Bengals: Dalton Kincaid, TE | Utah

The only element of the Bengals skill positions that was lacking last season was at tight end. Hayden Hurst produced at times but could not be a consistent weapon. Dalton Kincaid could provide a nice boost to this offense as a second-round selection.

    59) Detroit Lions (from MIN): Brandon Joseph, S | Notre Dame

There is a group of safeties set to be free agents in Detroit, so the Lions will likely look to add depth in the draft. Brandon Joseph can add that depth but also has the talent to push for a starting role.

    60) Carolina Panthers (from SF): Jarrett Patterson, IOL | Notre Dame

The Panthers need to keep adding depth to the interior of their offensive line, and Jarrett Patterson could provide that nicely in the second round of this 2023 mock draft.

    61) Buffalo Bills: Zach Charbonnet, RB | UCLA

The Bills running game has been a mismatch compared to the passing game, and now Devin Singletary is heading to free agency. Zach Charbonnet could be the perfect replacement as the hard-running power-back to complement James Cook. His fantasy value would be a little limited by the way this offense runs, but the potential for a goal-line role is enticing.

    62) Kansas City Chiefs: Tyler Davis, DT | Clemson

The Chiefs have a lot of defensive line options heading to free agency this year. They can look to add a nice rotational piece in Tyler Davis at the back end of the second round.

    63) Philadelphia Eagles: DeMarvion Overshown, LB | Texas

With the Eagles having both Kyzir White and T.J. Edwards set to be free agents this year, they will be looking for both starting options and depth pieces this offseason. As the final pick of the second round of this 2023 NFL mock draft, DeMarvion Overshown could fall into either of those categories and with the potential for him to be a starting option in 2023, he is an intriguing mid-round option in rookie drafts.

2023 NFL Mock Draft: Round 3

    64) Chicago Bears: Jalin Hyatt, WR | Tennessee

While the Bears added Claypool this past season, they have several players at WR set to depart this offseason. Jalin Hyatt took a big step in his final season at Tennessee and could be a nice addition to the Bears. Unfortunately, in this offense, Hyatt could have next to no fantasy value.

    65) Houston Texans: Layden Robinson, OG | Texas A&M

The Texans’ offensive line needs some reinforcement, and Layden Robinson could be a depth piece they can develop into a starter. His impact in 2023 will likely be minimal, but Houston also needs to plan long-term.

    66) Arizona Cardinals: Tank Bigsby, RB | Auburn

With Eno Benjamin gone and Darrel Williams a free agent, Tank Bigsby would make a solid foil to James Conner. The fit would make Bigsby a second-round selection in rookie drafts.

    67) Denver Broncos (from IND): Dawand Jones, OT | Ohio State

The other big need for the Broncos this offseason is at the offensive line. Dawand Jones could line up on either side and would have a real shot to be a starting option for the Broncos in 2023.

    68) Denver Broncos: Drew Sanders, LB | Arkansas

The Broncos don’t select until the start of the third round in the 2023 NFL Draft, and with two selections in three picks, they can address two of their biggest needs. With Alex Singleton set to be a free agent this offseason, Drew Sanders is a sensible option to back up Josey Jewell and Jonas Griffith, and he can compete for a starting role as well. Sanders could be an under-the-radar late-round option in rookie drafts with the potential to play significant snaps.

    69) Los Angeles Rams: Andre Carter II, EDGE | Army

The Rams’ pass rush hasn’t been all that great this season, and they need to add more talent. Andre Carter II doesn’t figure to be a leading figure in the defense, but he would be a useful rotational piece.

    70) Las Vegas Raiders: Warren McClendon, OT | Georgia

While Kolton Miller is doing a good job at left tackle, right tackle is still not settled for the Raiders. Warren McClendon would add depth and can push for a starting role.

    71) New Orleans Saints: Bralen Trice, EDGE | Washington

New Orleans has three players on the outside heading to free agency this year. With their options limited due to salary cap issues, they will be hoping to get a potential difference-maker in Bralen Trice, especially given the team’s limited capital over the first two days of the draft.

    72) Tennessee Titans: Owen Pappoe, LB | Auburn

With David Long Jr. and Dylan Cole both pending free agents this offseason, the Titans need to make additions at LB. Owen Pappoe fits that bill nicely, and he will have a chance to push for a starting role.

    73) Houston Texans (from CLE): Sam LaPorta, TE | Iowa

The solution to the tight end position is still up in the air for the Texans. Sam LaPorta could work well as a foil to Brevin Jordan but likely won’t have much fantasy value until 2024 or later.

    74) New York Jets: Brandon Dorlus, DT | Oregon

Another area on the Jets’ defense that will have openings coming up is along the defensive line. With three veterans heading to free agency, Brandon Dorlus could see significant snaps as a rookie.

    75) Atlanta Falcons: Marvin Mims, WR | Oklahoma

We have seen the Falcons put together a solid skill position group in Drake London, Kyle Pitts, and Tyler Allgeier. Adding Marvin Mims would give this offense a fantastic level of dynamism and set Desmond Ridder up for success.

    76) New England Patriots (from CAR): Tre’Vius Hodges-Tomlinson, CB | TCU

The secondary for New England has been in continuous flux in recent seasons. Adding a player of Tre’Vius Hodges-Tomlinson‘s talent gives them a lot of potential in a group that usually outperforms its collective talent.

    77) Miami Dolphins (from NE): Jordan Morgan, OT | Arizona

With their second pick of this 2023 mock draft, the Dolphins add a tackle option in Jordan Morgan. They have a number of tackles heading to free agency and have question marks at the position among the remaining options.

    78) Green Bay Packers: Christopher Smith, S | Georgia

The Packers have a handful of pending free agents at safety, so adding Christopher Smith is crucial to securing depth and adding someone to compete for significant snaps in 2023.

    79) Indianapolis Colts (from WAS): Blake Freeland, OT | BYU

Indianapolis really needs to find an answer at left tackle, and Blake Freeland is intriguing as someone that can grow into the role. He might not be a Week 1 starter in his rookie year, but he has a chance to be a long-term contributor.

    80) Pittsburgh Steelers: Ruke Orhorhoro, DT | Clemson

With a couple of pending free agents in Pittsburgh along the defensive line, Ruke Orhorhoro would be a nice target as a rotational piece.

    81) Detroit Lions: Tyrique Stevenson, CB | Miami (FL)

The Lions still need to add options at CB, and Tyrique Stevenson is a solid depth piece who could hold his own starting opposite Jeff Okudah.

    82) Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Jack Campbell, LB Iowa

With Lavonte David and Genard Avery heading to free agency, the Buccaneers need to address the LB position. Jack Campbell has some work to do if he wants to be a starter in his rookie year, but he could provide a depth option with developmental potential. He would be an intriguing late-round pick in this landing spot.

    84) Miami Dolphins: Kendre Miller, RB | TCU

An original version of this article had Blake Corum as this selection before he opted to return to school

All of the Dolphins’ top three RB options this season are free agents in 2023. Kendre Miller has been a really impressive RB for TCU this season, finishing with 1,342 yards and 17 TDs. His work in the receiving game has been limited, but as a runner, he has been a real breakout talent in 2022.

    84) Seattle Seahawks: Ivan Pace Jr., LB | Cincinnati

With a few players heading to free agency at LB for the Seahawks, they need some depth. Ivan Pace Jr. provides that depth element as a third-round selection.

    85) Jacksonville Jaguars: Zach Evans, RB | Ole Miss

While Travis Etienne Jr. is a star, Jacksonville needs another option at RB to complement him. Zach Evans is an extremely talented back who has seen his value dip throughout his collegiate career. This landing spot is not ideal, as he would initially be the backup to Etienne. But as a handcuff, he would a third-round option in rookie drafts.

    86) New York Giants: Ricky Stromberg, C | Arkansas

The Giants have been slowly rebuilding their offensive line, and that continues in this 2023 NFL mock draft. Ricky Stromberg is an experienced center who can help balance the Giants’ offensive line.

    87) Baltimore Ravens: A.T. Perry, WR | Wake Forest

The Ravens’ offense is unusual in how it operates. They could look to add depth to their current strength, the running game, or they could add an option that will improve their passing game. A.T. Perry could be a strong option as a starting WR opposite Rashod Bateman. In this offense, he would have limited fantasy value, making him a third-round rookie draft option.

    88) Los Angeles Chargers: Isaiah Land, LB | Florida A&M

With all three of the Chargers’ main LB options set to hit free agency in the next two offseasons, Isaiah Land is a project who could start later in 2023 and into 2024.

    89) Dallas Cowboys: Kyu Blu Kelly, CB | Stanford

The Cowboys have been looking for a solution opposite Trevon Diggs. Kyu Blu Kelly is a talented option who could develop into a regular starter for this defense.

    90) Cincinnati Bengals: Mekhi Garner, CB | LSU

With both Eli Apple and Tre Flowers set to hit free agency this offseason, Mekhi Garner is a solid third-round addition for the Bengals in this 2023 NFL mock draft.

    91) Minnesota Vikings: Rome Odunze, WR | Washington

With Adam Thielen’s best days of his career now in the rearview mirror, the Vikings need to consider who can be the next partner to Justin Jefferson. Rome Odunze is a productive player with upside who should be more than capable of competing with K.J. Osborn for the WR2 role. In this landing spot, Odunze is a potential third-round selection in rookie fantasy drafts.

    92) Carolina Panthers: Devon Achane, RB | Texas A&M

With Christian McCaffrey gone, the Panthers have a gap at RB, and Devon Achane could be a useful piece to fill that void. There is also an opportunity for him to be a fantasy asset with the Panthers’ backfield very much up in the air.

    93) Buffalo Bills: Ji’Ayir Brown, S | Penn State

With Micah Hyde dealing with an injury and Jordan Poyer a pending free agent this year, the Bills need to consider their future at safety. Ji’Ayr Brown might not be a starting option as a rookie, but he has developmental potential for Buffalo.

    94) Kansas City Chiefs: Lukas Van Ness, EDGE, Iowa

With Brown going the pick before and no value here on the offensive line, the Chiefs bolster their defense with a pass rusher. They still have Frank Clark and Mike Danna for another year, so Lukas Van Ness just needs to be a rotational piece.

    95) Philadelphia Eagles: Nehemiah Pritchett, CB | Auburn

The Eagles have a need at cornerback this offseason, but historically, they tend to use Day 2 or Day 3 picks to target them. Nehemiah Pritchett has plenty of speed, which can make up for some technical issues and make him a solid special teams option as a rookie.

    96) Cleveland Browns: Cameron Latu, TE | Alabama

The Browns’ offense is looking pretty set for the most part, but adding Cameron Latu as a partner for David Njoku can give them options. Having two good tight ends at their disposal will allow them to be versatile with their personnel.

    97) San Francisco 49ers: Byron Young, DT | Alabama

San Francisco’s first picks of the 2023 NFL draft come at the end of the third round, where they have back-to-back selections. With needs on both their offensive and defensive lines, they can address each. Byron Young would be a fantastic rotational piece to work in alongside a really talented group up front on defense.

    98) San Francisco 49ers: Luke Wypler, C | Ohio State

The 49ers’ offense has always prided itself on the strength of its offensive line, and they have a major need to address at center. Luke Wypler has played at a high level in big games, so he should be an ideal option and have a chance to slide straight in as a starter.

    99) New York Giants (from KC): Xavier Hutchinson, WR | Iowa State

Wide receiver is a big need for the Giants, and Xavier Hutchinson is an intriguing option for them. His fantasy value will depend on the QB situation after this offseason, but he’s likely limited to a later-round selection in 2023 rookie drafts.
