The NFL heads to Mexico City this week for the last of five 2022 International Series games. Who is playing in the NFL Mexico Game today, what time does the international game start, and how can you watch it?
Who Plays During the NFL Mexico Game Today?
- Teams
Arizona Cardinals vs. San Francisco 49ers - Location
Estadio Azteca, Mexico City
The Arizona Cardinals need this one. Badly. The team is clearly fighting for its last gasps of playoff life at 4-6, and another loss to a fellow NFC Wild Card contender would likely spell the end of the team’s 2022 postseason hopes.

It certainly doesn’t help that, as of this writing, the status of Arizona’s QB situation is completely up in the air. Kyler Murray missed last week’s contest with a hamstring injury, though backup QB Colt McCoy, who has been cleared of his own lower-body injury, admirably piloted the offense to 27 points on a 26-37 passing line for 238 yards and a score.
The 49ers’ offense, on the other hand, is healthier than its been in quite some time. Elijah Mitchell is finally back from a knee injury and came out swinging in his return to action last week. The talented second-year running back put up 89 rushing yards on 18 carries for an impressive 4.9 yards per carry.
Mitchell is joined by superstars Christian McCaffrey, Deebo Samuel, and George Kittle, as well as the ascending Brandon Aiyuk, to make up one of the most dynamic and explosive groups of offensive weapons league-wide.
Arizona’s uninspiring defense, which sits 23rd in the league in yards allowed and bottom-three in points allowed, is in for a handful in this primetime matchup.
PFN’s Betting Director BJ Rudell broke down this NFL Mexico game in his Early NFL Week 11 Predictions and Picks.
“As we await word on Kyler Murray’s availability, we can appreciate that as good as the 49ers technically are, that hasn’t fully translated on the field. Losing to the Falcons by two touchdowns? Losing to the Chiefs at home by three touchdowns?
But in fairness, Christian McCaffrey — and more recently, a returning Elijah Mitchell and Deebo Samuel — make San Francisco one of the toughest 5-4 teams in years, especially considering their frequently stifling defense.
Arizona’s defensive struggles reinforce the strong possibility that the Niners’ offense will continue to click. An eight-plus-point victory seems likely.”
