For the second week in a row, the NFL slate comes to an end during Monday Night Football tonight with a clash between two AFC West foes. Who is playing, what time does the game start, and how can you watch it?
Who Plays on Monday Night Football Tonight?
Teams
Denver Broncos vs. Los Angeles Chargers
Location
SoFi Stadium, Inglewood, California
Tonight’s Monday Night Football matchup will feature the Denver Broncos traveling to Las Angeles to take on the Chargers. The AFC West gets the prime time slot for the second week in a row, and in a division as tight as this in the NFL standings, every game counts.
These two teams are trying to keep pace with the Chiefs, who are currently first with four wins. A Chargers win here would also put them at four wins. While the Broncos would close the gap and be only one win behind Kansas City.
The last time we saw Denver, they were losing an enthralling Thursday Night Football matchup against the Colts, where a whopping seven field goals counted for all the points scored. Russell Wilson threw for 274 yards and two interceptions.
Even after that lackluster offensive performance, Denver still comes into this one with only the 18th-ranked passing offense in the league. However, they are 31st in scoring offense, ahead of only the aforementioned Colts.

There has also been quite a bit of talk about Wilson and his health coming into this game. The Broncos QB had a small procedure done on his throwing shoulder after the loss to the Colts. It will be interesting to see if anything changes with Denver’s game plan against Los Angeles.
The Chargers, meanwhile, are not having a tough time scoring, but they are struggling to keep the other team out of the end zone. They are ninth in the league in scoring (24.4 points per game), but they are 30th in points allowed. That number will likely improve after a matchup with the hapless Broncos.
The Denver defense has kept them in games all season long. However, the Chargers might just be a bit too much for them to handle. Running back Austin Ekeler has been on a tear the past few weeks, and Justin Herbert continues to improve after he suffered a rib injury earlier in the season. Additionally, there is a chance that wide receiver Keenan Allen will finally make his return, giving Herbert another weapon.
The opening betting lines have the Chargers favored by five points. The number makes sense considering the lackluster home-field advantage that the Chargers get in SoFi. PFN’s Betting Director BJ Rudell broke this game down in his Week 6 picks and predictions, leaning heavily in the favor of the home team.
“Russell Wilson’s shoulder pain and overall concerning play are the tips of the iceberg for a franchise that entered 2022 with realistic Super Bowl aspirations. LA should win this one handily, as Denver’s facing the wrong opponent at the wrong time.”
