Atlanta Falcons running back Cordarrelle Patterson enjoyed a career season in 2021. Will Patterson again produce enough to be on your fantasy football roster this season, and what is his current ADP in fantasy drafts?
Cordarrelle Patterson ADP | Is he worth his current price in fantasy drafts?
Patterson’s current ADP is 75th overall as the 29th running back selected in fantasy drafts. This means he’s being taken in the seventh round of standard leagues. Other players drafted in his range include Devin Singletary and Rashaad Penny.
I couldn’t believe it when Patterson re-signed in Atlanta. It seemed impossible a more attractive situation wasn’t available for the 31-year-old than a rebuilding team that needed to add younger legs to their backfield. Atlanta predictably added more competition by signing Damien Williams and drafting Tyler Allgeier.
Patterson is still the best weapon of the bunch, finishing 12th among fantasy backs last year. But it’s unlikely he repeats that production as his quarterback is significantly worse, and Atlanta has little reason to feed Patterson over Allgeier as the season progresses.
Still, Patterson is worth taking at his ADP because the list of other backs in his range have their own roadblocks to overcome. It’s possible Allgeier never takes over, and Patterson is still the best option.
Patterson’s projected fantasy value in 2022
Your roster may already have three great backs on it by the time you’re in range to select Patterson. He’d be a great third or fourth RB on any roster, and you could truly have a strength at the position if you’re building it that deep. However, Patterson is not the back to target if you’re going Zero RB.
You’d be better off with Devin Singletary or Chase Edmonds for that strategy. Soon after Patterson goes, that’s the alarm that the final running back tier worth starting for multiple weeks is about to end. The next round is likely the last chance to get a potential high-end backup to a low-end starter.
