After an action-packed Week 1, the NFL’s preseason schedule continues with Week 2. But is there Thursday Night Football tonight, and if so, who is playing?
Is there Thursday Night Football tonight?
There is just one game on the schedule tonight. Here’s how you can watch the Thursday Night Football matchup between the Chicago Bears and Seattle Seahawks.
Chicago Bears at Seattle Seahawks
Time: 8 p.m. ET
TV channel: ESPN
Live stream: Vidgo, fuboTV, NFL+, ESPN App, ESPN+
Thursday Night Football in Week 2 of the preseason sees the Bears heading to Lumen Field to take on the Seahawks. The Bears were victorious in their first preseason game, defeating the Kansas City Chiefs 19-14. It was a tale of two halves, however, as Justin Fields and the first team struggled to maintain momentum outside of a few eye-popping plays. The depth came into the game in the second half and got the job done, scoring all 19 of the Bears’ points and securing the victory.
Meanwhile, the Seahawks dropped their matchup against the Steelers, which included the first glimpses of the QB competition between Drew Lock and Geno Smith. Both had very similar stat lines outside of Lock’s two touchdowns and strip-sack late in the game. Unfortunately, Seahawks and NFL fans will have to wait on more updates from the competitive position battle as Lock tested positive for COVID-19 on Tuesday and will be out for five days.
Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll gave an update on rookie RB Kenneth Walker III this week as they hope to have him healed from his hernia and ready for opening week. It’s a shame after the rookie was having a solid offseason thus far. The Seahawks also made a move for a new WR who should see some action tonight.
Seattle sent DB Ugo Amadi to the Philadelphia Eagles in exchange for WR/TE J.J. Arcega-Whiteside. A former second-round pick in 2019, Arcega-Whiteside’s time in Philadelphia has been underwhelming. With the Seahawks running low on help in the WR room, can a change of scenery help Arcega-Whiteside jump-start his career? Stay tuned for Thursday Night Football as these young developing teams continue to find their identities.
