The New York Giants‘ 53-man roster doesn’t scream “five-win team” from the top, but the lack of depth at so many positions and the uncertainty of Daniel Jones’ ability make it difficult to see an avenue for success in 2022.
New York Giants 53-man roster projection
The Giants’ roster was obliterated during Dave Gettleman’s time as their general manager. Now, Schoen and HC Brian Daboll look to fit the pieces back together and rebuild New York football from the ground up. And they started with two great selections at the top of the first round.
Starters will be annotated with an asterisk.

Football is physical, and injuries are an inevitability. Joe Schoen and Co. have done a good job trying to bandage the offensive line, but the wounds sustained from the last regime require stitches.
Additionally, while adding Wink Martindale from an outside perspective sounds outstanding, the secondary doesn’t have the personnel to play the aggressive style he became famous for in Baltimore. The materialization of what he does this season will be fascinating to watch unfold.
If he’s around for the long term, expect New York to target high-end cornerbacks in the draft and free agency that can live on an island while Martindale uses myriad of pressure looks to attack opposing QBs.
