Fantasy Football: Trade Targets include Kyler Murray, Devin Singletary, and more

It is time to trade, and we have the perfect targets to help you win your fantasy football leagues.

Back by popular demand is our fantasy football trade targets and we are going to keep this going weekly throughout the season as situations change every single week. If you check out our trade targets article from last week, you will see that a lot of those players’ values have already started to increase after some outstanding performances.

Prior to last week, we hope you were able to make a move for Josh Jacobs before he scored 2 touchdowns on the Chicago Bears. Both Matt Ryan and Calvin Ridley are already doing as expected, and with that defense, both are still buys.

One pro tip before we get started that I will share throughout the season is the big need for running back insurance. You should always have the handcuff of your top running back or RB2, if possible. If you don’t have them already, I would try to make a small trade for one. As soon as you get through the majority of your bye weeks, you should be stacking the back end of your bench with handcuffs.

    Quarterbacks

Drew Brees – New Orleans Saints

Drew Brees is ahead of schedule and should be back before we know it. Most teams do not like to carry two quarterbacks, and especially not one that is injured. Teams that are losing are in win-now mode and can’t wait for someone like Brees to return. You should go get him now before the price goes up.

Brees is a great option for teams that have started the season hot and can afford to trade an uninjured player for an injured player. His division has changed a lot over the last few weeks, and the defenses in his division all look like fantasy friendly matchups. Brees will return to one of the best offenses in the league and will be a weekly starter once he returns.

    Kyler Murray – Arizona Cardinals

Kyler Murray is quietly putting together a fantastic rookie year and exceeding expectations. The touchdown totals are lower, and the rushing might not be what was expected, but that might just be enough to make him attainable via trade.

The offense is really starting to click, and they are showing the ability to move the ball both on the ground as well as through the air. Murray offers an extremely safe floor with his rushing ability, and even without all of his weapons, he is getting it done through the air. Las Vegas set his passing yards at 3,100 for the year, and he is currently on pace for 4,400 passing yards. He should easily be able to beat his line of 19 touchdowns at the end of the year, as well.

Murray is a top 10 quarterback right now, and he offers top-five upside for the rest of the season. You might have to pay up a little for Murray, but it will be worth it. To add to all of this, his schedule is one of the best in the league moving forward, starting with the New York Giants on Sunday.

    Josh Allen – Buffalo Bills

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen showed us his upside last season when he finished the year as the number one overall quarterback over the last five weeks. Allen has shown promise this year already with his improved weaponry and offensive line. He is a player that offers a high floor due to his rushing ability, and the offense really does revolve around him.

The Bills have been linked to several big named wide receivers as well, and his weaponry could see some additions here before the trade deadline hits. Allen had his bye in Week 6, and by trading a player that has yet to have a bye week, you will gain an extra game to add the cherry on top of the trade.

    Running Backs

Tevin Coleman – San Francisco 49ers

Kyle Shanahan knows how to use running backs, and your fantasy owners should thank him. Tevin Coleman has been banged up for the majority of the season and looks to be the number two option behind Matt Breida. Coleman should still be a viable option each week and should be able to put in top-24 performances.

Coleman is also a player that would see a huge bump if Breida were ever to go down.  Breida has a long injury history, and there is a good likelihood of this happening. Coleman also gets the bump for already having his bye week. Breida missed a lot of snaps on Sunday already banged up, and Coleman is getting goalline work.

    Carlos Hyde – Houston Texans

Carlos Hyde has had a wild offseason, and his stock has been a roller coaster. Hyde was a late trade during the preseason, and hopefully, you either kept on to him or got him on the cheap then. He is a part of one of the best offenses in the league, and you always want to attach yourself to a high scoring offense at the running back position.

Hyde is also getting the goalline work, and even with Duke Johnson there, he is getting the majority of the snaps. Hyde is a Lamar Miller type of running back. He is not exciting, but he gets the job done, and that is obviously something that the Houston Texans look for.  They are not looking for efficiency; they are looking for consistency. That is why they had Miller and Alfred Blue for two years. Hyde is a cheaper option that should be attainable in a trade.

    Devin Singletary – Buffalo Bills

Devin Singletary could be a league winner, and he’s fresh off of his bye week. Singletary hype has cooled off quite a bit, and fantasy owners are likely not very happy with him. It’s possible they’re looking for options.

Even before getting hurt, Singletary has yet to take the lead role in this offense. Obviously, Frank Gore is not the top option, and Singletary has been extremely efficient.

Singletary could be this year’s Nick Chubb, and after being out for three weeks, his price should be right. He’s been hanging out on the bottom of someone’s bench or on the IR. In leagues with smaller benches, he may even be on the waivers. Go grab Singletary before he gets to play against the Miami Dolphins not once, but twice. Buffalo has a great schedule, and Singletary should have a lot of room to break out.

    Wide Receivers

Odell Beckham Jr. – Cleveland Browns

Odell Beckham Jr. is an elite talent, and he is a player that can win you a week by himself.  He has yet to show that though in 2019 with the Cleveland Browns. Obviously, he has not lived up to his first or second-round draft cost. Playing alongside good friend and college teammate, Jarvis Landry, hasn’t panned out as well as originally hoped.

Teams that drafted Odell early are definitely kicking themselves, and are most likely more eager than Dave Gettleman to ship him out of town. These teams are mostly struggling and looking to make moves, so go take advantage.

Robby Anderson – New York Jets

There is not a single player in the league that has had a worse situation than Robby Anderson so far this season. Anderson has faced elite shut down corners on a weekly basis, while the New York Jets have been starting their third-string corner. This did not get any easier in Week 6 even with Sam Darnold back, but Anderson did prevail with a nice afternoon on the heels of a 92-yard touchdown reception in the Jets win over the Cowboys.

The good news is that Anderson is going to see a nice stretch coming up soon, and Luke Falk is no longer throwing passes for the Jets. You might remember that Anderson blew up at the end of the season last year, showing great chemistry with Darnold. That, in combination with his upcoming schedule, should create the opportunity for him to get back into your fantasy football lineups.

The bad news is that you will have to wait another two weeks on Anderson to really. Even after a good performance against Dallas, a matchup with the New England Patriots should damper expectations. After that, his schedule really opens up. They will play the Dolphins twice, the Giants, and the Washington Redskins all within a five-week span. This is the same reason I wanted you to target Le’Veon Bell last week.

    Michael Gallup – Dallas Cowboys

Michael Gallup had a great start to the season before being lost for a few weeks with a meniscus injury. Gallup returned and Amari Cooper exited. With Cooper slated to miss some time, I expect Gallup to see an increase in targets. Even when Cooper returns, Gallup is still the number two option on this team. Randall Cobb has not shown the production that some had hoped for.

Gallup should have a great price point right now and should easily return value. I see Gallup as a WR3 (top 36) right now with WR2 (top 24) upside on any given week. I expect a big performance against the Philadelphia Eagles this week, and we suggest you try to get him before the price goes up.

    Tight Ends

    Darren Waller – Oakland Raiders

Darren Waller is one of the offseason hype players that actually has hit on his hype. Waller has been a mainstay in this offense, and he has been a top tight end this year minus the one game against the Bears. He is a PPR machine and is a perfect match for Derek Carr, who loves to check down. Oakland Raiders’ tight ends are receiving 39.1% of the target shares, and Waller is receiving the bulk of them.

There is a strong correlation with running back targets to tight end targets. As the team doesn’t throw to the running back, those targets are being funneled straight to Waller. It is going to be extremely difficult to find a tight end that gets this type of volume. This is the time to buy him as he comes off the bye and off of his worst performance.

O.J. Howard – Tampa Bay Buccaneers

O.J. Howard could easily get the most frustrating fantasy football player of the year award so far. This team is one of the top passing offenses, and even in a 50 point performance, Howard was irrelevant. Howard’s offensive coordinator said that Howard’s time is coming. I don’t know if I believe him, but Howard is worth the shot.

The reason is pretty simple. There are very few options. Out of those options, he has one of the greatest upsides. You can basically get him for free, and he is very possibly already on your waiver wire. There are a lot of rumors swirling about a possible trade at the deadline as well that could boost his value.

Evan Engram – New York Giants

This is one that you will have to pay up for, but I don’t mind at all. You will have to suck it up for a week or two until he gets back from his injury. Buy the injury dip. The injury is minor, and with him being out for a week already, the owner might be desperate enough to move him.

Evan Engram is a huge piece of this offense, and with Sterling Shepard expected to be out for an extended amount of time, he will keep his role as one of the top options even with Golden Tate and Saquon Barkley’s returns. Engram is a big difference-maker at a weak position. He could give you a big edge on the competition during the playoffs.
