Braxton Jones has busy schedule ahead of 2022 NFL Draft
Jones is regarded as a Day 2 target, according to league sources. An NFL Scouting Combine standout with a 4.97 40 time and 4.84 short shuttle, Jones played in the Senior Bowl all-star game.
He has outstanding size and length at 6-foot-5, 310 pounds, with 10 1/4″ hands, 35 3/8″ arms, and a 6’11 1/2″ wingspan to lock out pass rushers.
Jones had a strong week at the Senior Bowl, matching up well against defensive linemen from bigger schools. The first-team All-American declared early for the NFL Draft as his stock continued to skyrocket.
He trained at Exos in Arizona with former NFL offensive guard Mike Pollak, refining his already strong technique and honing in on his diet and training.
Jones gets high marks for a nasty streak and finishing blocks with power, flipping his hips to redirect and stonewall pass rushers. He has pop at the line of scrimmage and gets movement at the point of attack.
Jones started every game at left tackle and was a first-team All-Big Sky and FCS selection. He was a three-year starter in a zone-based running scheme with the Thunderbirds. He played at Murray High School in Salt Lake City and started 29 career games, playing football and basketball.
