Since joining the league in 1976, how have the Tampa Bay Buccaneers performed with their first-round picks in the NFL Draft? In both of the Buccaneers’ Super Bowl titles to date, first-round talent has played an integral role. Here’s a look at the team’s full history in Round 1.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers First-Round Draft Picks Throughout History

Across their nearly 50-year history of first-round picks in the NFL Draft, the Buccaneers have selected Hall of Famers three times. The franchise’s very first Round 1 selection — defensive end Lee Roy Selmon — went on to earn a golden jacket. And in 1995, the Buccaneers selected two first-round Hall of Famers in Warren Sapp and Derrick Brooks, both of whom helped the Bucs win their first Super Bowl title.

In the modern era, the Buccaneers have drafted a host of quality players with their first-round picks, among them Mike Evans, Vita Vea, Devin White, and Tristan Wirfs. Wirfs, in particular, is on a Hall of Fame trajectory after racking up All-Pro and Pro Bowl nods.
