While Derek Stingley Jr. is the most famous defensive back leaving the LSU Tigers’ secondary this offseason, his tag-team partner at cornerback, Cordale Flott, has also seen quite a bit of interest during the NFL Draft process.
Flott, who spent three seasons at LSU, has set up Top 30 visits with the New York Giants, Denver Broncos, Indianapolis Colts, and Las Vegas Raiders for April, a league source recently told Pro Football Network.
2022 NFL Draft: LSU’s Cordale Flott in high demand
Flott declared for the 2022 NFL Draft shortly after his junior season with the Tigers. Due to his underclassman status, he has had a relatively quiet draft journey ahead of his April 6 pro day at LSU.
But following his time in Indianapolis at the NFL Combine, Flott has been in high demand. The Giants, Colts, Broncos, and Raiders all requested private meetings with the LSU cornerback, who measured in at 6-foot and 175 pounds at the annual scouting event.
The Saraland, Ala. native chose not to test at the NFL Combine. Instead, he will take part in every drill at LSU’s Pro Day next month.
While Flott mostly played the nickel role at LSU, his size gives him the ability to play outside at cornerback. During his three seasons at LSU, Flott produced 98 tackles (5.5 for loss), 10 pass breakups, an interception, and 2 forced fumbles.
Flott hasn’t tested his speed or agility this offseason, but he has proven his toughness as a sound tackler at LSU.
Flott is PFN Chief Draft Analyst Tony Pauline‘s 146th overall prospect. Pauline has graded Flott as a fifth-round prospect ahead of his pro day.
Depending on how Flott tests next month, his stock could rise ahead of the draft. With four private visits planned already, the interest in Flott could grow after his pro day in Baton Rouge.
