    Veteran free agent running back Ronald Jones II is visiting the Kansas City Chiefs on Wednesday, according to a league source not authorized to speak publicly. Jones, 24, rushed for 428 yards and 4 touchdowns last season and is an explosive running back.

    The Tampa Bay Buccaneers free agent was part of a winning Super Bowl LV team while splitting time with Leonard Fournette. He had 61 rushing yards in the Super Bowl win over the Chiefs.

    Ronald Jones is a former second-round draft pick from USC

    The Texas native and former USC blue-chip recruit is a former Buccaneers second-round draft pick who rushed for 724 yards in nine starts in his second NFL season.

    In 2020, he had a 98-yard touchdown run for the longest play in franchise history as he led the team with 978 rushing yards and 7 touchdowns while catching 28 passes for 165 yards and a score. He averaged a career-high 5.1 yards per carry.

    The McKinney native ran track and played football in high school, eventually landing with the Trojans to continue his football career. Jones rushed for 1,550 yards and 20 total touchdowns as a junior at USC. He’d go on to declare for the 2018 NFL Draft, leaving USC a year early. As a sophomore, he had 1,082 rushing yards and 13 total touchdowns.

    Jones finished his college career with 3,619 yards and 39 touchdown runs with 31 catches for 280 yards and 3 scores.
