    Fantasy Football: Week 3 streamers

Streaming has become a popular strategy in fantasy football and with all of the injuries, you may have to turn to some short term options to help you win this week.

During the offseason, we all talked about how deep the quarterback position was.  Now we are all hoping we can get Gardner Minshew, Jacoby Brissett, or Daniel Jones off of the waiver wire this week. Please check out our waiver wire article as we look to help you stay ahead of the competition in your fantasy football leagues.

In addition, I am going to go through some streaming options to help you win your matchup in Week 3. Whether it is due to injury or bad matchup, these streaming options will help you now, and some might be good options moving forward like my pick for Dak Prescott in Week 1 or Josh Allen from Week 2. Both have really good matchups again this week and were great finds for those who have already added them.

    Quarterbacks

Josh Allen – Buffalo Bills Vs. Cincinnati Bengals

Allen should have been added last week, but if he wasn’t, you need to grab him this week.  I have him as my stream of the week and a top ten quarterback this week. The Cincinnati Bengals are a fantastic matchup and this could be a game where we see Allen really use his legs. Devin Singletary will likely miss the game with a hamstring injury and we could see Allen used more on designed runs on top of scrambles. The Bengals couldn’t tackle any ball carrier against the San Francisco 49ers, and this could be a game where Allen runs for 100+.

Jameis Winston – Tampa Bay Buccaneers Vs. New York Giants

Jameis Winston did not wow anyone on Thursday night against the Carolina Panthers and through two weeks he is average at best. The New York Giants are the worst passing defense in the league and this is setting up for a get right game. They are an extremely fantasy-friendly defense for quarterbacks, even Winston.

I know Winston has likely burned you in the past, but I still would have no problem going with him this week if you need him. As quarterbacks are dropping like flies, Winston is starting to look like a much better option.

Jimmy Garoppolo – San Francisco Vs. Pittsburgh Steelers

Jimmy Garoppolo was kicked to the curb in your fantasy football leagues following a rough offseason and a bad Week 1 performance. He had a bounce-back week though in Week 2 and should be a good candidate to stream this week. The Pittsburgh Steelers are struggling on defense without cornerback Joe Haden to the point that they just gave up a first-round pick for safety Minkah Fitzpatrick.  On top of this, the Steelers are banged up on offense with long-time start Ben Roethlisberger out for the season and James Conner questionable with a knee injury.

With the Steelers having to turn to second-year quarterback Mason Rudolph, this could set up nicely for the San Francisco offense. The offense showed some promise last week, and with a dominant running game, they should be able to move the ball well. Look for Garoppolo to have opportunities to score and put up good fantasy football production again in Week 3.

    Tight Ends

Delanie Walker – Tennessee Titans @ Jacksonville Jaguars

Delanie Walker leads the Tennessee Titans in targets through two weeks, and look for him to do that all season. There are a lot of new weapons, but he has great chemistry with Marcus Mariota. Walker should be an add this week if available, and I would hold on to him for the rest of season if you are looking for a reliable tight end all year. He doesn’t offer the high ceiling, but he offers a safe floor in a volatile position. Walker is my fantasy football tight end stream of the week.

T.J. Hockenson – Detroit Lions Vs. Philadelphia Eagles

Look for T.J. Hockenson on your waivers after they go through. He is likely to have been dropped after a disappointing Week 2. I am not giving up on Hockenson that easy, and if you are in a pinch, I would pick him up. Hockenson is still out there in the majority of snaps and in a position that is hard to predict on a week to week basis. I am comfortable taking my shot with him. He has proven upside and I think the snap count will offer a safe floor more weeks than not.

O.J. Howard – Tampa Bay Buccaneers Vs. New York Giants

O.J. Howard is likely dropped in most of your leagues and might even have been dropped by you. I would hold on for one last week. You don’t want to regret it and struggle to fill the position for the rest of the year or have to pay up all of your FAAB as you try to get him back next week. Howard is still dominating the snap count and routes run for the Tampa Bay tight ends. Winston is choosing not to go his way right now, but we all know that he loves to target his tight ends. The Giants do not have anyone that can match up with Winston like Luke Kuechly, and Howard will bounce back in Week 3.

Look for Howard as players are being dropped. We all know about the upside with him, and if he hits, he may be someone you want to keep all year. I would rather take a shot on Howard than a guy like Tyler Eifert, Trey Burton, or Jordan Reed. Good coaches do not give up on talent and the Giants are the perfect matchup for a bounce back.

    Defenses

    Seattle Seahawks Vs. New Orleans

My fantasy football defensive stream of the week is the Seattle Seahawks who were likely dropped last week following a poor performance against the Bengals as well as their matchup against the Steelers. Jadeveon Clowney should be acclimated and facing Teddy Bridgewater should help them gain you an advantage for your lineup.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. New York Giants

The Eli Manning era is over in New York and rookie Daniel Jones is going to start. I think he will play well and this may be an upgrade for the Giants. He still is a rookie, however, and he has lost multiple fumbles in the preseason as well as in Week 1. The Buccaneers defense looked great against Cam last week and should put up good fantasy football production for you against a struggling offense.

San Francisco 49ers Vs. Pittsburgh Steelers

The 49ers have been a solid fantasy football D/ST so far this year and they get Rudolph in his first start. Conner is questionable with a knee injury and the Steelers are struggling.  Look for the 49ers on your waiver wire and try to get them in your lineup if you weren’t lucky enough to grab the New England Patriots last week.
