What to expect from the 2022 NFL Honors tonight

You can catch the 2022 NFL Honors on two channels tonight: ABC and NFL Network. The show will take place from SoFi Stadium, the site of Super Bowl LVI, in the YouTube Theater. In what seems like a foregone conclusion, the NFL will announce who wins the 2021 AP Most Valuable Player presented by Pizza Hut. The debate has narrowed to a two-way race between Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Tom Brady.

Rodgers was named 2021 first-team All-Pro QB to Brady’s second-team nod in a 36-14 vote. As of late, the All-Pro first-team QB announcement correlates with lifting the NFL MVP. Should the theory hold, Rodgers would win consecutive NFL MVPs and the fourth of his career at the 2022 NFL Honors. Should voters shock the world and select Brady, he adds a fourth MVP award shortly after announcing his retirement.

Another foregone conclusion should see Dallas Cowboys LB Micah Parsons taking home the AP Defensive Rookie of the Year honors. Parsons dropped jaws all season. The rookie earned 46 first-team votes, the most among all LBs.

While the competition is pretty stiff, one could argue Parsons should also receive the AP Defensive Player of the Year award presented by Castrol at the 2022 NFL Honors. Be sure to catch who wins the various 19 awards in the 2022 NFL Honors tonight.
