The San Francisco 49ers have played in the most NFC title games than any other team (17 after facing the Rams in 2022). The 49ers played for the NFC title 10 times between 1981 and 1997, and they’re now playing their fifth title game since 2011.
The 49ers also hold the record for the most NFC Championship Games hosted with 10. However, the Eagles hold the record for consecutive games hosted with three when they hosted the Buccaneers, Panthers, and Falcons in consecutive years between the 2002-03 and 2004-05 seasons.

The record for the most consecutive appearances in the title game is tied between two teams at four. The Cowboys have managed to do it twice. They went to four consecutive title games between 1971 and 1974 as well as 1992-1995. The Eagles accomplished the same feat between 2002 and 2005.
What team has lost the most NFC Championship Games?
The 49ers may have got to the most NFC title games, but they have also lost the most with nine. The Cowboys, Rams, and Vikings are second with six losses — no other team has more than four. The Rams, Cowboys, and Eagles hold the record for the most consecutive losses with three.
The Detroit Lions (0-1) are the only NFC team to have never won a title game. They are also the only current NFC team to have never hosted a title game.

The Cowboys hold the record for the most victories with 8. They are also in a tie with five other teams for the most consecutive NFC title game victories with two, which has been achieved eight times. The Cowboys have done it three times, with the Vikings, 49ers, Packers, Seahawks, and Washington going back-to-back once.
Only one team has won all of their games played in the NFC Championship Game. That is the New York Giants, who have a perfect 5-0 record.
