Are there Saturday NFL games today?
The Divisional Round of the 2022 NFL postseason featured the last games on Saturday for the 2021-2022 season. NFL fans will not see the return of games on Saturday until late next season.
NFL Conference Championship schedule
So when can you watch the Conference Championship games if there are no Saturday NFL playoff games today? With just four teams and two games remaining, all the postseason action is featured on Sunday.
Cincinnati Bengals at Kansas City Chiefs
The Cincinnati Bengals and Kansas City Chiefs square off at 3 PM ET in the AFC Championship Game. The Bengals turned a Ryan Tannehill interception with 20 seconds left into the game-winning 52-yard boot from rookie kicker Evan McPherson. Even while being sacked 9 times, Bengals QB Joe Burrow’s competitive arrogance was unmatched Saturday as he willed his squad to an AFC Championship appearance.
This week, the task will be much more challenging. Only two teams have held the Chiefs to 16 points or less this season, and they were both knocked out in the Divisional Round. The only teams to hamper the Chiefs’ offense to that point this season was their Week 7 27-3 loss to the Titans and their Week 9 13-7 win over the Packers.
Outside of those games, Kansas City scored 30.9 points per game in the regular season, and have scored 42 in each of their playoff games so far.
In comparison, the Bengals struggled to top 20 points during Super Wild Card Weekend against the Raiders and were severely hampered by the Titans’ pass rush. Cincinnati will need to batten down the hatches if they stand a chance against Kansas City on Sunday.
San Francisco 49ers at Los Angeles Rams
Meanwhile, the NFC Championship Game wraps things up on Sunday as the San Francisco 49ers head to SoFi Stadium to take on the Los Angeles Rams at 6:30 PM ET.
The 49ers are the personification of postseason football. Run the ball down the opponent’s throat and stifle their offense with a suffocating defense. Not only does it travel well, but it’s the prime game plan for a cold-weather game. That game plan was on full display as the 49ers took out the NFL’s other No. 1 see last Saturday night.
Luckily for them, Buccaneers QB Tom Brady’s comeback win fell short, and San Francisco is set to face off against a team it has beaten six straight times. Los Angeles has not defeated the 49ers since Week 17 of the 2018 season.
This game will be the third regular-season rematch in the postseason for the Rams as they face off against the team they are responsible for letting in the playoffs. Can Matthew Stafford help Sean McVay shake this monkey off his back?
