The Conference Championships are set after a thrilling weekend of postseason NFL football. While the defenses prevailed on Saturday, the offenses turned things up a notch in Sunday’s games. NFL Conference Championship schedule
So when do the playoffs kick off this weekend with no Thursday Night Football game tonight? There are now just four teams remaining, which means only two games on Sunday this week.
Cincinnati Bengals vs. Kansas City Chiefs
The AFC Championship Game sees the Cincinnati Bengals heading to Arrowhead Stadium to take on the Kansas City Chiefs for a 3 PM ET kickoff. Bengals QB Joe Burrow was under fire all game last week, getting sacked 9 times, but the defense forced 3 turnovers and gave the offense enough chances to take out the Titans. Meanwhile, Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes was in the duel of the decade against QB Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills.
These teams faced off in Week 17 in a 34-31 thriller in favor of the Bengals. This week, Cincinnati will need to prioritize pass protection after getting gashed by Tennessee’s defensive line. They can’t afford to give Kansas City extra possessions via drive-ending sacks. This figures to be an intriguing game between the Bengals’ offense and the Chiefs’ defense.
San Francisco 49ers vs. Los Angeles Rams
The NFC Championship Game sees the No. 6 seed San Francisco 49ers head to SoFi Stadium to take on the Los Angeles Rams. Volume III of the NFC West rivalry kicks off at 6:30 PM ET. The 49ers’ defense stifled QB Aaron Rodgers and the Packers in Lambeau Field. They hope to complete the season sweep of the Rams with a victory on Sunday.
Los Angeles QB Matthew Stafford continues to rewrite his NFL legacy this postseason. He owes a lot of praise to WR Cooper Kupp. The All-Pro WR hauled in 9 receptions for 183 yards and a touchdown, including his last-second 44-yard catch to set up the game-winning field goal. Can the Rams finally beat San Francisco after losing their last six matchups?
