Is Breshad Perriman playing today vs. the Rams?

Breshad Perriman is dealing with multiple injuries for the Divisional Round of the playoffs.-- is he playing this weekend?

Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Breshad Perriman is dealing with multiple injuries at the moment. He hasn’t played a massive role in the Tampa Bay offense, but he’s seen an increased workload with Chris Godwin out, Antonio Brown cut, and Cyril Grayson questionable. Will Perriman play against the Los Angeles Rams in the Divisional Round, and what can fantasy football managers expect from Tampa Bay’s passing game this weekend?

    Breshad Perriman’s 2021 production

Perriman has only played in six games for the Buccaneers this season. He’s seen a limited role, recording 12 receptions for 172 yards and 1 touchdown on 21 targets. Perriman’s biggest play came on a 58-yard touchdown in overtime against the Buffalo Bills in Week 14.

He didn’t play again until Week 17. He saw two of his best games in Week 17 and 18. Over that span, he turned 9 targets into 7 receptions for 85 yards. Perriman struggled against the Philadelphia Eagles in the Wild Card round before suffering an injury.

Will Perriman play vs. the Rams this week?

Perriman was struggling with a hip issue early in the week. Head coach Bruce Arians then announced that Perriman was also dealing with a torn muscle in his side.

The receiver recorded three DNPs, as he failed to practice at any point this week. He’s already been ruled out for this game.

How will Perriman’s absence affect the Buccaneers’ offense?

Perriman’s absence won’t have a major effect on Tampa Bay’s offense. He’s been playing more snaps in recent weeks, but he isn’t a massive part of the offense.

Mike Evans and Rob Gronkowski will continue to see the lion’s share of the targets. They could both receive upwards of 10 targets in this game, as they’re the clear WR1 and TE1 for the Bucs.

Cameron Brate will also see a larger role in the offense, which has been the case in recent weeks. Grayson is currently listed as questionable, and he’ll take over as the WR2 if he’s healthy.

Tyler Johnson could also see more looks. He’s seen 6+ targets in three games since Week 15. Johnson’s seen an inconsistent role throughout the season, but he’ll find work regardless, and he’ll be thrust into the WR2 role if Grayson is out. Scotty Miller and Jaelon Darden could also see increased roles depending on how the game plays out.

Are fantasy points available vs. Los Angeles?

There are plenty of fantasy points available in Perriman’s absence against Los Angeles. The Rams are giving up 22.5 fantasy points per game to wide receivers, which is the 10th-most in the NFL. They’re allowing 241.7 passing yards per game this season. The Rams also conceded 17 passing touchdowns in 2021.

Tom Brady threw for 432 yards and 1 touchdown against LA earlier this season, and he could find plenty of success through the air once again. Evans and Gronkowski make for elite options, while the remaining receivers will be high-risk, high-reward in this matchup.
