Defense streaming options for Week 13
If you play the streaming game based on matchups, then you’re in luck. There are a handful of defenses worth considering for Week 13 that could pay huge dividends. Here are three streaming options to consider.
San Francisco 49ers (@ Seattle Seahawks)
This is not the NFC West of old where the Seahawks were essentially unbeatable at home. In fact, they’re only 1-4 at home so far this season. Seattle has scored 1 touchdown in their last two games after Russell Wilson was shut out for the first time as a Seahawk two weeks ago against the Green Bay Packers.
Wilson has yet to throw a TD pass since returning from injury. Is that streak going to go on forever? No, of course not. But this offense is out of sorts, and the San Francisco defense has been on a decent run lately. Before giving up 26 points to the Minnesota Vikings in Week 12, the Niners had held two straight opponents to only 10 points. They make for an interesting streaming option this week.
Philadelphia Eagles (@ New York Jets)
This one’s pretty straightforward — play a good defense against a quarterback that’s struggling. In his first game back from injury, rookie Zach Wilson didn’t throw a touchdown pass, completed only 58.3% of his passes, threw an interception, and was sacked 4 times … by the Houston Texans.
This Eagles defense should be able to feast on the poor decision-making of a rookie still trying to find his footing in the NFL, all without having to deal with Michael Carter, who is on the injured reserve. The Eagles are rostered in only 28.3% of leagues on NFL.com. Scoop them up and play them in a great matchup.
Kansas City Chiefs (vs. Denver Broncos)
Remember early in the season when the Kansas City Chiefs were “bad,” the world was on fire, and everyone was panicking? Well, they’re 7-4 and in sole possession of first place in their division coming out of their bye week. Things are going fine, and it’s been the defense leading the way. They haven’t allowed an opposing offense to score more than 17 points since Week 7, and have 11 sacks, 6 interceptions, and 5 fumble recoveries in their last four games.
Coming off a bye week, head coach Andy Reid is historically amazing. He’s 19-3 in the regular season in games following his bye, and his defense has been on a hot stretch lately. They’ll now get a matchup with the Denver Broncos, who are giving up the ninth-most fantasy points per game to opposing defenses. Plus, starting quarterback Teddy Bridgewater is dealing with a leg injury. It still remains to be seen if Bridgewater or Drew Lock will be under center in Week 13, but Kansas City’s defense is a great play regardless.
