Which Texas A&M top prospects will declare for the 2022 NFL Draft?

Kenyon Green, DeMarvin Leal, Isaiah Spiller, and Jalen Wydermyer lead Texas A&M's impressive class of 2022 NFL Draft prospects.

Texas A&M has had a season full of ups and downs, but the talent on their roster is something they should be excited for in the 2022 NFL Draft. A college football team full of NFL potential means that certain players have decisions to make, and sources close to Pro Football Network are receiving some of the answers to those decisions.

Texas A&M’s top 2022 NFL Draft prospects

Texas A&M brings in some of the best talent in the nation. The type of talent that turns into future NFL potential. They stand out on the screen, and their play says plenty for their odds of making it to the pros.

Guard Kenyon Green has been on the NFL radar for a couple of years now and gave decision-makers a look at him at tackle this season. DeMarvin Leal‘s skill set blew up this year, and he’s already produced a career-high 48 tackles, 10.5 tackles for loss, and 6.5 sacks.

Everyone expected those two to declare, but there were some questions about other players, including running back Isaiah Spiller and tight end Jalen Wydermyer. Analysts consider Spiller a potential first-round pick, and more analysts and scouts love what Wydermyer brings to the table.

Which Texas A&M prospects will declare?

On the “Between the Hashes” podcast, PFN’s Chief Draft Analyst Tony Pauline laid some questions to rest. He also provided some intriguing thoughts of his own. Pauline didn’t waste any time talking about the Aggies’ star offensive lineman’s future with the program. “I’m told Kenyon Green is going to enter the draft … not coming as a surprise.”

As for the other three, Pauline did some more digging and appeared to have received some answers. “I got further confirmation Jalen Wydermyer, Isaiah Spiller, and DeMarvin Leal are all entering the draft,” he stated. Leal’s departure shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone, but there were questions about what Wydermyer and Spiller would do.

Wydermyer put in work over the last couple of years to help his draft stock. While fans weren’t sure what their tight end would do, Pauline says, “I know that for Wydermyer, it’s believed that he is zeroing in on representation.” Spiller remains the one question. “Can’t get my finger on the pulse as to what Spiller is doing as far as representation is concerned,” said Pauline, “but I was told he’s leaving.”

Pauline revealed the biggest surprise of the episode. “I think all will end up as top-75 selections, with Wydermyer leading the pack. Although some will argue it’s going to be Kenyon Green, I just don’t know.” Green’s largely been considered a lock as the first Aggies player taken in many 2022 NFL Mock Drafts, so Wydermyer going above him would definitely attract some attention. Though Pauline has a contrarian view on Green, the Texas A&M guard remains one of the top linemen in the country.

Other Aggies prospects to watch

We mentioned the Aggies were talented, but most people talk about the four players mentioned earlier. Texas A&M’s loaded with potential talent — both seniors and future prospects — and the guys on defense are who will be discussed most. Tyree Johnson, Jayden Peevy, and Micheal Clemons have wreaked havoc on nearly everyone they’ve faced. All three are seniors this year, so they don’t have a choice, but they’ll be worth watching outside Leal. All four possess potential at the next level and could all be drafted.

Leon O’Neal Jr. contemplated transferring at one point but returned to College Station and could be a late-round pick this year. Linebacker Aaron Hansford leads the team in tackles, and his athleticism continues to draw attention. Ainias Smith brings a versatile skill set that his future team will love when he declares.

Other future picks include safety Demani Richardson, cornerback Jaylon Jones, and cornerback Tyreek Chappell. If wide receiver Demond Demas lives up to the hype, he’ll be one of the top prospects in his draft class. Moose Muhammad III possesses a familiar name to NFL fans, and he’s shown some flashes early in his career.

Texas A&M is prepared for multiple departures this season. Jimbo Fisher recruited a ton of talent, and he knows the process. He sends his players to the NFL and finds a new guy to fill the void. It leads to a bright future for the Aggies and more additions to Fisher’s recruiting pitch in the offseason.
