Fantasy Football Trade Analyzer Week 11: Three players to trade for this week
Knowing who to acquire is the fun part. Let’s figure out what shiny new toys you can add to your fantasy football toy chest.
Austin Ekeler, RB, Los Angeles Chargers
Anytime an RB1 can be acquired at a decreased value, you should be pouncing on it. Austin Ekeler has been the RB15 over the last two weeks, in large part because of a downtick in his passing-game work.
Between Weeks 2-8, Ekeler averaged 7 targets, 5.5 receptions, and 50.3 receiving yards to go along with his rushing numbers. Over the last two weeks, he’s averaged just 4.5 targets, 3 receptions, and 19 receiving yards.
Those numbers are bound to regress to where they should be. If you can trade for an elite pass-catching RB, especially in a PPR or half-PPR league, you should.
Aaron Jones, RB, Green Bay Packers
There was concern that Aaron Jones might miss an extended period of time, but a mild MCL sprain diagnosis changes everything. Jones should only miss 1-2 games but also has a Week 13 bye.
This is a move to make if you feel confident that you will be making the playoffs, especially if you have an IR spot on your roster. At worst, it appears Jones will be back for a Week 14 matchup with the Bears, and he should slot right back in as an RB1 upon his arrival.
Jamison Crowder, WR, New York Jets
I wrote about Crowder last week — he is perpetually one of the most underrated wide receivers in the league. No matter who’s at quarterback for the Jets (it will be Joe Flacco this week), Crowder is in a position to be peppered with targets.
Sunday was a horrible day for Mike White and the Jets’ offense, but Crowder led the team in routes run and has at least 6 targets in every game this year. You can probably trade for Crowder (or even potentially pick him up off waivers) for nearly free, and his potential volume could lead to some depth appeal.
Fantasy Football Trade Analyzer Week 11: Three players to trade away this week
While acquiring players is fun, knowing when to unload others is key. Here are three players you should look to move ahead of Week 11.
Jakobi Meyers, WR, New England Patriots
It was great to see Jakobi Meyers get his first career receiving TD last week, but I still don’t like him for fantasy purposes. He’s simply too inconsistent.
Prior to Week 10, Meyers hadn’t topped 8.9 half-PPR fantasy points since Week 4. He also hasn’t topped 56 receiving yards in that stretch. Meyers has been valuable to the Patriots’ offense, but a low floor makes him hard to trust in fantasy. With Tennessee and Buffalo coming up on the schedule, now would be a good time to trade Meyers.
Antonio Gibson, RB, Washington Football Team
Currently the RB17 on the season, Antonio Gibson hasn’t lived up to his ADP. He hasn’t reached 70 rushing yards or received 3+ targets since Week 1. He doesn’t get enough work to be considered a good/great fantasy football running back.
Despite getting a season-high 24 carries against a tough Tampa Bay defense in Week 10, he turned that into only 64 rushing yards. His 2 touchdowns are overinflating what otherwise was an average day. If you can trade Gibson coming off the big game, I would.
Albert Wilson, WR, Miami Dolphins
Remember last Thursday’s completely weird game between the Miami Dolphins and Baltimore Ravens? Albert Wilson was a part of that weirdness. Wilson pieced together 87 receiving yards. This was the first game of the season in which Wilson started, and he saw 5 targets.
Yet, 64 of those 87 yards came on one play, where Wilson ran a wheel route and was left unchecked. I’m not even kidding — there wasn’t a defender within what looked to be about 20 yards of him. Wilson has 2 or fewer targets in four out of six games this year and failed to top 20 receiving yards prior to last Thursday. If you can sweeten a package by adding him to the mix (sell them on the fact that DeVante Parker is on IR), then trade him away.
