NFL picks and predictions Week 10 | NFL lines and odds
The NFL standings and the 2021 NFL Playoff picture are starting to take shape, helping to guide the weekly NFL odds from the sportsbooks. However, there are always surprises in the NFL, and those often lead to interesting anomalies in the lines and spreads. If you can identify where those odds differ from the potential outcome, it provides a great opportunity to make a profit.
Let’s take a look at the Week 10 picks, predictions, and NFL odds from DraftKings Sportsbook as of 2 PM ET on November 13.
Sunday, Week 10: Free NFL picks and predictions
The early Sunday slate of games sees a couple of seemingly lopsided games. However, there are a couple of fascinating clashes between teams fighting for position as we head into the second half of the season.
Buffalo Bills (-12.5) at New York Jets
I feel like a sucker laying two touchdowns with the Bills on the road against future Hall of Famer Mike White. However, the Bills are coming off a truly embarrassing road loss to the Jaguars, where they failed to score a single touchdown.
This feels like a classic rebound game for the Bills where they just stomp the Jets. I will either look very smart or very stupid with this call.
Bills vs. Jets Prediction: Bills 38, Jets 14
Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-9.5) at Washington Football Team
Both of these teams are coming off a bye. This is a rematch from the first round of last year’s playoffs, where Taylor Heinicke came perilously close to ending Tom Brady’s Super Bowl run before it even began. I don’t think Brady’s forgotten.
Even with the Bucs having two weeks to think about their failures against the Saints, this is a large number to lay on the road. The Bucs aren’t going to lose this game, but the Football Team can keep it close.
Buccaneers vs. Washington Prediction: Buccaneers 27, Football Team 20
Atlanta Falcons at Dallas Cowboys (-8.5)
This game is set up perfectly for the double-reverse narrative. The Falcons are coming off an impressive road win against the Saints. The Cowboys are coming off an embarrassing home blowout loss to the Broncos.
Look for both narratives to flip this week as the Falcons have a letdown while the Cowboys bounce back strongly.
Falcons vs. Cowboys Prediction: Cowboys 35, Falcons 24
Jacksonville Jaguars at Indianapolis Colts (-10)
The Jaguars somehow beat the Bills without scoring a touchdown. Is this defense suddenly legitimate? I don’t think so.
Expect the Colts to remind the Jaguars exactly who they are. The Colts have been playing so well recently. I like them to keep it rolling.
Jaguars vs. Colts Prediction: Colts 31, Jaguars 16
Detroit Lions at Pittsburgh Steelers (-6.5)
The Steelers almost blew what was a seemingly smooth Monday Night Football victory over the Bears. Meanwhile, the Lions have yet to win a game.
Rested and refreshed following the week off, the Lions should be reenergized to try and get a victory. Ben Roethlisberger being out due to COVID-19 only helps their cause. With that being said, this line only moved a point after the move from Big Ben to Mason Rudolph, which is very curious. I still think the Steelers win, but this one is going to be ugly.
Lions vs. Steelers Prediction: Steelers 13, Lions 7
Cleveland Browns at New England Patriots (-2.5)
This is one of the most difficult games on the slate to predict. Both of these teams are good, not great. Both are coming off strong wins and trending in the right direction.
All I can do here is read the line. If this line were 3.5, I’d like the Patriots. At 2.5, it feels like the books want Patriots money, which pushes me to like the Browns.
Browns vs. Patriots Prediction: Browns 24, Patriots 20
New Orleans Saints at Tennessee Titans (-3)
Here we have yet another challenging game to predict. The Titans are white-hot right now, coming off a really impressive and dominant road win over the Rams. Meanwhile, the Saints just dropped a home game to the Falcons.
It feels like the Titans are due for a stinker, but it’s felt that way for about a month now, and it keeps not happening. Nevertheless, I expect heavy public money on Ryan Tannehill to be able to beat Trevor Siemian. For that reason, I’ll go the other way.
Titans vs. Saints Prediction: Saints 26, Titans 23
Carolina Panthers at Arizona Cardinals (-10.5)
This line seems to presume Kyler Murray is playing. I don’t think he will. The Cardinals can beat the Panthers with Colt McCoy and their defense. They are guaranteed to make the playoffs and have no reason to risk their franchise quarterback. Much like the Cowboys did with Dak Prescott, I expect the Cardinals to play it extra safe with Murray.
[bet-promo id=”160605″ ]Arizona should still win this game, but this feels like an overreaction to how poorly the 49ers played last week.
Panthers vs. Cardinals Prediction: Cardinals 24, Panthers 17
Minnesota Vikings at Los Angeles Chargers (-3)
The Vikings are constantly involved in close games. Last week, they lost yet another contest they should’ve won. At some point, they’re going to win one of these games.
On the other hand, the Chargers won a game they probably should’ve lost. This feels like regression to the mean on both sides.
Vikings vs. Chargers Prediction: Vikings 27, Chargers 24
Philadelphia Eagles at Denver Broncos (-2.5)
Whenever a home team is favored by 2.5-3 points, I’m always tempted to take the road team. There are a number of these lines this week.
The Broncos just had their signature win of the season on the road against the Cowboys in dominant fashion. The Eagles lost a heartbreaker to the Chargers. We have yet another double-reverse narrative here.
Eagles vs. Broncos Prediction: Eagles 24, Broncos 20
Seattle Seahawks at Green Bay Packers (-3.5)
Both of these teams had to endure a game or two without their starting quarterback. It’s quite fitting that Russell Wilson and Aaron Rodgers are set to return together.
This game feels like a true coin flip. Wilson is going to be extra motivated after missing the first two starts of his career. Rodgers will be just days removed from having COVID-19 and admitted himself he may have some conditioning issues. This line is just too big.
Seahawks vs. Packers Prediction: Seahawks 27, Packers 24
Sunday Night Football: Kansas City Chiefs (-3) at Las Vegas Raiders
I guess the public just won’t let the books adjust on the Chiefs. At some point, we need to acknowledge Kansas City’s offense is broken.
The Raiders are coming off a bad loss against the Giants. They now get the Chiefs at home, coming off a win. More double-reverse narratives! This is one of my most confident picks of the week.
Chiefs vs. Raiders Prediction: Raiders 30, Chiefs 24
Monday Night Football: Week 10 picks and predictions
Prime-time NFC West matches are seemingly never dull affairs. The four teams always play each other hard, and it makes for entertaining football. There are a number of subplots to this game that makes for a fascinating situation heading into Week 10.
Closing out our Week 10 NFL picks and predictions is a Monday Night Football game featuring two teams looking to rebound after a bad loss.
Los Angeles Rams (-4) at San Francisco 49ers
The Rams are certainly going to be a public play this week. Both of these teams are following rough home losses. One of them is going to add to their win column.
The Rams are just too good to have consecutive down weeks. Things change quickly in the NFL, and this league is unpredictable. Still, I just can’t in good conscience back a team that got blown out at home by Colt McCoy.
Rams vs. 49ers Prediction: Rams 31, 49ers 19
