Defense Rankings and Streamers Week 10: Cleveland will make life difficult for Mac Jones

With Week 10 in front of us, let's look ahead to our D/ST rankings and three streamers to consider for your fantasy lineup.

Defense is the position that is streamed the most in fantasy football, and as you likely know, a solid defensive performance can give you as many points — or more — as a solid flex play. Unfortunately for us fantasy managers, we can’t target the Houston Texans or the New York Giants in Week 10 because they’re both on a bye. We also can’t stream a defense against the New York Jets because they’re playing the Buffalo Bills, who are rostered in every league. But let’s look through our Week 10 defense rankings and find a few D/ST streamers.

    Week 10 D/ST Rankings

Let’s get started at the top of our list, which is headlined by an opportunistic defense squaring off against Sam Darnold.

    1. Arizona Cardinals vs. CAR
    2. Buffalo Bills @ NYJ
    3. Pittsburgh Steelers vs. DET
    4. Los Angeles Rams @ SF
    5. Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ WAS
    6. New England Patriots vs. CLE
    7. Indianapolis Colts vs. JAX

    Week 10 D/ST Streaming Options

If you’re looking for an option to stream, there are a few that have high upside. Here are three defenses to consider streaming for Week 10.

    Cleveland Browns (@ NE)

Led by NFL Defensive Player of the Year frontrunner Myles Garrett, the Cleveland Browns defense is no joke. They’re coming off a dominant performance against the high-octane Cincinnati Bengals, holding them to 16 total points to go along with Joe Burrow’s 0 TDs and 2 INTs. The Browns controlled the game from the jump.

Cleveland is allowing the third-fewest total yards and is generating the third-most sacks per game (3) in the league. Rookie Patriots quarterback Mac Jones is going to have his hands full, and it won’t help that New England starting RB Damien Harris and backup Rhamondre Stevenson are both battling head injuries.

    Las Vegas Raiders (vs. KC)

I know, I’m suggesting that you play a defense against the Kansas City Chiefs. Unfortunately, this Chiefs offense has not been the same in 2021 as in years past. Superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes has been anything but, failing to top 14 fantasy points in each of his last three games. He’s thrown 10 interceptions, right behind Joe Burrow and Sam Darnold (11 each).

Yes, it’s a risky proposition. The Kansas City sleeping giant could wake up at any moment. But right now, they’re middle of the pack in points scored per game at 24.6, and the Raiders bring the fight to them often. Las Vegas has generated the sixth-most sacks per game this season and could continue to generate pressure against Mahomes.

    Green Bay Packers (vs. SEA)

Russell Wilson is set to make his return for the Seattle Seahawks in Week 10, but the team will still be without running back Chris Carson. Plus, they’ll be on the road against a tough Green Bay Packers defense that has held opposing teams to only 20 points per game, the sixth-best in the NFL.

The Seahawks offense is tough to predict in Wilson’s first game back. He had multiple low-output games to start the season, including a 149-yard passing day against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 4. In his first game after injury, Seattle (and specifically Pete Carroll) could be intent on running the ball early and often — especially if they’re playing against Jordan Love instead of Aaron Rodgers. Green Bay makes for an interesting option in Week 10.
