The unfortunate reality of the NFL is that when players are allowed to go full speed, injuries are bound to happen. Week 7 of the NFL season was no exception. Now that fantasy football managers are updating their lineups for the coming week, several players have found themselves on the injury report, leaving their status for Week 8 in the air.

Update: For the most recent updates, make sure to check out our up-to-date Week 8 Fantasy Football Injury Report.

Fantasy Football Injury Report: QB update

How are the signal-callers faring? Let’s start with Dak Prescott and then move our way to the likes of Tyrod Taylor, Tayson Hill, and Zach Wilson.

    Dak Prescott, Dallas Cowboys

Calvin Watkins of The Dallas Morning News reports Dak Prescott (calf) practiced in a limited capacity Thursday [October 28]. Prescott went through rehab and individual drills before practice which was the plan head coach Mike McCarthy described to media earlier in the day. Prescott stated to Watkins that it isn’t his decision whether he’ll play Sunday in Minnesota.

    Tyrod Taylor, Houston Texans

Brooks Kubena of the Houston Chronicle reports Houston designated Tyrod Taylor (hamstring) to return from injured reserve Wednesday. This move opened up a 21-day window in which the team could activate him to the 53-man roster. Head coach David Culley said the Texans plan to ease the veteran signal-caller back into practice, but if Tyrod does not have any setbacks, he could be starting as early as Week 8.

    Taysom Hill, New Orleans Saints

Per the team’s practice report, Taysom Hill is still out of practice as he deals with a concussion he sustained in Week 5.

    Zach Wilson, New York Jets

Zach Wilson is out for an estimated 2-4 weeks due to a sprained PCL. QB Mike White filled in for Wilson last week, and the Jets traded for veteran Joe Flacco who could start this Sunday.

Fantasy Football Injury Report: RB update

How is the injury bug affecting RB committees heading into Week 8? We look at the different situations around the league and how they affect players such as Chris Evans, Nick Chubb, D’Andre Swift, Jamaal Williams, Austin Ekeler, Saquon Barkley, Miles Sanders, and Antonio Gibson.

    Chris Evans, Cincinnati Bengals

Ben Baby of ESPN reports Chris Evans (hamstring) didn’t participate in Thursday’s practice. He has been a DNP both days this week.

    Nick Chubb, Cleveland Browns

Per Camryn Justice of News 5 Cleveland, Nick Chubb (calf) was a limited participant for the second straight day Thursday. Chubb stated earlier in the week he was hopeful to suit up against the Steelers in Week 8 after missing the last two games.

    D’Andre Swift, Detroit Lions

For the eighth week in a row, the Lions are listing D’Andre Swift questionable with a groin injury. Swift has yet to miss a game and has 653 yards from scrimmage and 5 TDs in his seven games. He’s fine.

    Jamaal Williams, Detroit Lions

Jammal Williams was a limited participant in Thursday’s practice with a thigh issue. Williams has dealt with a variety of knicks and bruises but has yet to miss a game this season.

    Austin Ekeler, Los Angeles Chargers

According to Field Yates of ESPN, Austin Ekeler was added to the Chargers’ injury report Thursday with a hip issue and did not participate in practice. This is a brand new injury, and given he is a late-week addition, it is not a great sign. There’s a chance it is precautionary, but the new DNP status is concerning, to say the least. The Chargers have Joshua Kelley, Justin Jackson, and Larry Rountree III on the depth chart should Ekeler miss time or see a limited snap count in Week 8.

    Saquon Barkley, New York Giants

Art Stapleton of The Bergen Record reports Saquon Barkley (ankle) didn’t practice Thursday. It’s doubtful he played in Week 8, but the Monday Night Football game does give an extra day for a potential shot of Barkley playing. But even if he did, it would not be in a full compacity role.

    Miles Sanders, Philadelphia Eagles

Per the Eagles’ practice report, Miles Sanders did not participate in practice Thursday. Sanders left the Eagles’ Week 7 loss to the Raiders due to an ankle sprain which was labeled as a week-to-week injury. Kenneth Gainwell and Boston Scott will share primary duties while the team may elevate Jordan Howard from the practice squad.

    Antonio Gibson, Washington Football Team

According to Ben Standig of The Athletic, Antonio Gibson (shin) practiced in a limited capacity Thursday. Washington continues to manage Gibson’s reps as he deals with a stress fracture in his shin.

WR Injury Update for Week 8

News for pass catchers is essential in PPR leagues. These are the fantasy-relevant WRs currently on the NFL’s Week 8 injury report and include the likes of Terrace Marshall Jr., Odell Beckham Jr., Jarvis Landry, Donovan Peoples-Jones, T.Y. Hilton, DeVante Parker, and numerous others.

    Terrace Marshall Jr., Carolina Panthers

Terrace Marshall Jr. (concussion) was a DNP for Thursday’s practice. He entered the concussion protocol Week 6 and has yet to return.

    Odell Beckham Jr., Cleveland Browns

For the second straight day, Odell Beckham Jr. (shoulder) was a limited participant in practice. Beckham further aggravated his shoulder injury in Week 7 and is questionable for Week 8 but is expected to play.

    Jarvis Landry, Cleveland Browns

Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal reports Jarvis Landry (knee) returned to practice Thursday. Landry made his return from the IR last week and caught 5 of 8 targets for 37 yards.

    Donovan Peoples-Jones, Cleveland Browns

Ulrich also reports Donovan Peoples-Jones (groin) did not practice Thursday. Peoples-Jones was seen working out on the side of practice as he continues to rehab.

    T.Y. Hilton, Indianapolis Colts

Kevin Bowen of 107.5 The Fan Indianapolis reports T.Y. Hilton (quad) returned to a limited practice Thursday. Hilton missed Wednesday’s session, making his participation a sign of his injury moving in the right direction. He is questionable for Week 8 against the Tennessee Titans.

    DeVante Parker, Miami Dolphins

According to the Dolphins’ practice report, DeVante Parker (shoulder/hamstring) did not participate on Thursday. Parker stated he did feel better but has missed the team’s last three games.

    Kendrick Bourne, New England Patriots

According to Andrew Callahan of the Boston Herald, Kendrick Bourne (shoulder) was a limited participant for the second straight day. He is one of 15 players listed as limited by the Patriots. Bourne fell on his shoulder while making a 46-yard reception in the Week 7 win over the Jets. So far, there’s nothing to suggest he will miss Week 8.

    Deonte Harris, New Orleans Saints

According to the Saints’ practice report, Deonte Harris (hamstring) returned to practice Thursday and was a limited participant. Harris hadn’t practiced since suffering the hamstring injury in Week 5 versus Washington.

    Kenny Golladay, New York Giants

Dan Salomone of the Giants’ official site reports Kenny Golladay (knee) didn’t practice Thursday. Golladay has missed back-to-back games due to a hyperextended right knee that he suffered back in Week 5.

    Sterling Shepard, New York Giants

Salomone reports Sterling Shepard (hamstring) practiced in a limited fashion Thursday. Shepard has missed three games this season due to hamstring injuries, most recently Week 7 after re-aggravating the injury the week prior.

    Kadarius Toney, New York Giants

Kadarius Toney (ankle) did not practice Thursday, according to Salomone. Head coach Joe Judge told Ryan Dunleavy of the New York Post on Thursday that he’s optimistic Toney will be back on the field Friday. Still, that doesn’t mean he’ll be ready to suit up for Week 8.

    Corey Davis, New York Jets

Rich Cimini of ESPN reports Corey Davis was listed as a limited practice participant Thursday due to a hip issue. Davis was not on the initial injury report published Wednesday, suggesting this hip issue is a new injury that cropped up mid-week.

    Deebo Samuel, San Francisco 49ers

Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area reports Deebo Samuel (calf) was limited in practice Thursday. Samuel returned to the practice field in a limited fashion on Thursday after sitting out Wednesday’s workout. Head coach Kyle Shanahan has expressed optimism Samuel will suit up for Week 8.

    Antonio Brown, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Tampa Bay head coach Bruce Arians said Wednesday that he isn’t sure how long Antonio Brown (ankle) will be out, noting that the WR is dealing with a sprain near his heel, Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times reports. Brown is currently listed as doubtful for Week 8 but is a near-lock to miss the game. The Buccaneers have a bye in Week 9, affording them an extra week to monitor Brown’s health.

    Julio Jones, Tennessee Titans

Jim Wyatt of the Titans’ official site reports Julio Jones has been ruled out of Week 8’s game against the Indianapolis Colts. Jones could not record a practice after re-aggravating the hamstring injury that will cost him his third game of the season.

TE Injury Update for Week 8

Which tight end injuries should we be mindful of when setting our fantasy lineups? Let’s look at players such as Dawson Knox, Jimmy Graham, T.J. Hockenson, Jonnu Smith, and others around the league.

    Dawson Knox, Buffalo Bills

Dawson Knox, who recently underwent hand surgery, has been ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Dolphins.

    Jimmy Graham, Chicago Bears

Jimmy Graham remains on the reserve/COVID-19 list following a positive test in Week 7. Graham is vaccinated, so he’ll be eligible to rejoin the Bears as soon as he’s asymptomatic and has tested negative on two occasions at least 24 hours apart.

    T.J. Hockenson, Detroit Lions

Tim Twentyman of the Lions’ official site reports T.J. Hockenson (ankle/knee) was limited at Thursday’s practice. Hockenson has yet to miss a game this season and could be heavily utilized Sunday against Philadelphia.

    Jonnu Smith, New England Patriots

Per Callahan of the Boston Herald, Jonnu Smith was a limited participant in Thursday’s practice as he deals with a shoulder injury. Smith is coming off his best game of the season (52 yards) but has been a relative disappointment compared to his 2020 breakout season with the Titans.

    Evan Engram, New York Giants

Salomone of the Giants’ official site reports Evan Engram was limited by a calf injury at Thursday’s practice. Engram was absent from Wednesday’s unofficial session and will have an extra day to recover as the team plays against the Chiefs on Monday night.

    Eric Ebron, Pittsburgh Steelers

Eric Ebron was limited in Thursday’s practice due to a hamstring injury, Brooke Pryor of ESPN.com reports.

    O.J. Howard, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Per the team’s practice report, O.J. Howard (ankle) was a limited participant on Thursday. Rob Gronkowski was a full participant and removed from the depth chart, meaning Howard’s time as a potential top option at TE is likely over.
