What to expect from tonight’s Saints vs. Seahawks game?

While the Saints still have their starting quarterback for Monday Night Football tonight, there are other questions regarding their offense in Week 7.

New Orleans remains thin at wide receiver

The Saints better hope that RB Alvin Kamara got plenty of rest over their Week 6 bye because he has quite the task ahead of him in tonight’s Monday Night Football matchup. There are only two available backs tonight between Kamara and Devine Ozigbo.

Meanwhile, WRs Michael Thomas and Tre’Quan Smith remain out. Both QB Taysom Hill and WR Deonte Harris have been ruled out with injuries sustained in Week 5. This leaves Winston with a WR room of Marquez Callaway, Kenny Stills, Ty Montgomery, and Lil’Jordan Humphrey.

However, what’s essential is that Winston is under center. They still have Kamara, who has been quite the difference-maker this season. Therefore, as long as Winston plays within himself, the Saints’ defense should have no problems against a Seahawks offense that struggled last week.

    Russell Wilson’s absence is present

Despite two early losses this season, things were looking good for Seattle heading into Week 5. Wilson’s right middle finger injury changed everything.

Last week’s game against the Steelers was good in spurts. Despite tying it up late and sending the game to overtime, six of Seattle’s 11 drives were 4 plays or less and ended in a punt. That’s not going to be enough tonight to keep pace with the Saints’ offense on Monday Night Football.

QB Geno Smith can be great in spot starts and even had people on edge when entering the game for Wilson in Week 5. However, Week 6 wasn’t for him, and things don’t seem better with a strong New Orleans defense coming to town.

DE Cameron Jordan is always a difference-maker in games and will indeed generate some pressure on Smith. Despite having some injuries in other team areas, the Saints’ secondary has remained relatively unscathed.

CB Marshon Lattimore will be hunting interceptions all night as the league’s second-best rushing defense will likely force Smith and Seattle to pass more in Monday Night Football tonight. The matchup between Lattimore and DK Metcalf will be a must-see event. With the better offense, the Saints take tonight’s Monday Night Football matchup in the end.
