Eagles vs. Jets | Current NFL odds, spreads, betting lines, and predictions
- Spread: Jets -5.5 (-110)
- Moneyline: Jets -225, Eagles +185
- Total: 33.5 (Over -110, Under -110)
With so much uncertainty around the starting QBs in this game, it’s difficult to pick a side. Oddsmakers seem to favor the Jets heavily, with them laying nearly a touchdown. New York is currently 2-0 in the preseason, but neither of their victories was impressive or convincing.
Zach Wilson completed 9 of 11 passes for 128 yards and 2 touchdowns during their latest performance, and Michael Carter carried the ball 10 times for 52 yards. Both rookies looked good, which might explain why this line is where it is.
The Eagles have yet to win a preseason game, and the Patriots absolutely demolished them last weekend, 35-0. Joe Flacco started for the Eagles when Hurts was scratched last minute due to an illness. Flacco completed 10 of 17 passes for 83 yards. In two games thus far, the Eagles have produced just 16 points while allowing 59.
There is no way I could take the Eagles in this one. However, laying this many points in a preseason game is difficult. Instead, I am looking at the over. If Hurts plays, I expect this offense to be a little bit more explosive. Still, the Eagles plan to sit most of their starters.
For the Jets, I think Wilson will want to impress one last time heading into the regular season. As a result, the total is low enough for me to take the over.
