Antonio Brown Landing Spots: Potential suitors for free agent wide receiver

After returning to the NFL field in 2020, what are Antonio Brown’s potential landing spots in free agency? Will we see a market for Brown after he proved he can be a contributor for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers?

The character concerns will certainly be something for teams to consider. However, after the way he performed this season, there will be interest.

A return to the Buccaneers seems the most likely outcome

It is clear that Tom Brady is a big fan of Antonio Brown, making a return the most likely landing spot. Brady pushed the Buccaneers to add Brown last year and then had great chemistry down the stretch with Brown.

In eight regular-season games last season, Brown had 483 receiving yards and 4 touchdowns. In the playoffs, Brown added another 2 touchdowns on 8 receptions. Furthermore, in his last game with the Buccaneers, Brown caught 5 receptions for 22 yards and a touchdown as the Buccaneers won the Super Bowl.

Would the Green Bay Packers gamble on adding Antonio Brown?

Green Bay and Aaron Rodgers just witnessed Brown help the Buccaneers win the Super Bowl. Meanwhile, Rodgers is managing a receiving corps with Davante Adams and a mixed match of names. An offensive unit of Antonio Brown, Davante Adams, and Aaron Jones, is a terrifying group for any defense to match up against.

Would the Baltimore Ravens add Brown to be their secondary weapon?

The Ravens have Marquise Brown, but they need a legitimate second weapon. Antonio Brown could be that option, but this landing spot may not be ideal. There are not a huge number of targets to go around in this offense, and Brown could become unsettled. Therefore, the Ravens would likely need to pay over the odds for Brown.

The Philadelphia Eagles need more pass catchers

The Eagles need reliable pass catchers. They have Jalen Reagor and Dallas Goedert, but they need a possession-type receiver. That need would make this an ideal landing spot for Antonio Brown. He could be the safety blanket for whoever is under center for the Eagles in 2021. This combination could be a fascinating mix, especially if the Eagles can get their offense clicking.

Houston needs a possession-type receiver for Deshaun Watson

The Texans have a very talented deep threat in Brandin Cooks. They also have a player with plenty of potential in Keke Coutee, but they need a possession-type guy. Adding Brown to the mix could make for a very potent offense in Houston.

What is Antonio Brown’s market value in free agency?

It was just two years ago that Antonio Brown signed a three-year deal worth more than $50 million dollars with the Raiders. However, the days of him being able to earn that much have gone by. The off-field issues will stop any potential landing spot from offering a big deal to Antonio Brown in the coming weeks.

Brown played last season on a one-year deal worth just over $1.5 million. In all likelihood, he is looking to increase that this offseason. However, with the character concerns, it is hard to see a team committing anything more than $2.5 million to Brown. He may even end up taking less, on a heavily incentivized contract to remain with the Buccaneers.
