The quarterback depth in the 2025 NFL Draft isn’t elite, particularly compared to 2024 when six quarterbacks were taken in the first 12 picks. In PFSN’s latest seven-round 2025 NFL Mock Draft, just two signal callers were drafted in the first round: Shedeur Sanders and Cam Ward.
While Ward is the better athlete, Sanders’ accuracy and ability to manage the pocket behind a poor Colorado offensive line were stand-out traits. With the draft approaching, five teams stand out as potential landing spots for Sanders.

5 Potential Landing Spots for Shedeur Sanders
As speculation builds, teams have been aggressive in free agency to find quarterbacks. Still, a few franchises remain unsettled at the position, and Sanders could be part of their future.
Whether as a Day 1 starter or a long-term project like Jordan Love, here are five teams that could take a shot on Sanders this season.
Tennessee Titans
Let’s start with the obvious; as a QB-needy team holding the No. 1 pick, it’s a natural fit. The Tennessee Titans desperately need stability under center after a rough 2024 season with Mason Rudolph and Will Levis. Both ranked near the bottom of PFSN’s QB+ metric — 26th and 34th, respectively, out of 39 eligible passers.
“The Titans are in an interesting spot. Brian Callahan clearly needs a new name under center for his offense. His relationship with Will Levis is tumultuous at best, and he should have more than enough security to have Sanders develop for a year or two,” said PFSN’s Dalton Miller in his seven-round 2025 NFL Mock Draft from January.
“Sanders isn’t a finished product. He’s the most accurate quarterback in the class by a significant margin, and he’s able to work within an NFL timeline, considering he’s survived poor protection in college throughout his career.”
A struggling offensive line at Colorado didn’t stop Sanders from compiling 4,134 yards in his final year, along with 37 touchdowns and just 10 interceptions. However, his most impressive statistic was his 74.0% completion percentage in 2024. With Levis’ documented mistakes in his second season, it would be a breath of fresh air for Callahan to find a quarterback who, if nothing else, is accurate.
Cleveland Browns
The Cleveland Browns added Kenny Pickett as a stopgap for 2025 with Deshaun Watson sidelined, but Pickett could just as easily end up as a backup. If Cleveland wants to reset at quarterback, Sanders makes sense.
Given their significant cap constraints, a rookie QB like Sanders could give the Browns a fresh start and a path toward rebuilding their team, especially after re-signing a superstar like Myles Garrett.

When PFSN’s Ian Cummings paired Sanders with the Browns in his latest 2025 NFL Mock Draft in March, his idea was simple: “Shedeur Sanders might not be an elevating talent, but in Kevin Stefanski’s scheme, his accuracy can go a long way.”
A two-time Coach of the Year winner, Stefanski could work wonders with a new quarterback who could potentially help the team move on from Watson, who ranked dead last in PFSN’s QB+ metric in 2024.
New York Giants
Yes, the Aaron Rodgers and Russell Wilson rumors exist. Yes, Matthew Stafford was also linked to the New York Giants. They clearly wanted to be in on the veteran market, but if Big Blue strikes out, they might be forced to face reality.
They need a long-term solution, and pairing first-round receiver Malik Nabers with a young, accurate quarterback could be the key to turning the Giants into a playoff contender.
“A smart, accurate quarterback who improved consistently in college, Shedeur Sanders has the tools to start in the NFL,” PFSN’s Jacob Infante said in his latest seven-round 2025 NFL Mock Draft.
The Giants haven’t found much success recently (two playoff appearances since their Super Bowl win in February 2012) and have made multiple mistakes over the years, none more scrutinized than the Saquon Barkley decision; a move like this could finally put them back on the right track. “The Giants have some pieces in place for him to work with, but when you get a shot at a potential franchise quarterback, you don’t pass it up,” Infante said.
Las Vegas Raiders
With a new part owner in Tom Brady and head coach in Pete Carroll, the Las Vegas Raiders clearly want to build an instant playoff contender in Las Vegas. Bringing in Geno Smith off a career-best 4,320 passing yards — fourth in the league — while leading the Seattle Seahawks to a 10-7 finish gives Vegas a solid veteran for the job.

But if the Raiders are thinking long-term, finding Smith’s successor might be a smart move, especially if Sanders falls to No. 6, where Las Vegas picks in the current NFL Draft order. The Raiders might not get a better opportunity to draft a top-tier QB.
In his 2025 NFL Mock Draft for PFSN in February, Joe DeLeone deemed the pairing of Sanders and offensive coordinator Chip Kelly as a match made in heaven. “The Colorado signal-caller is a cerebral decision-maker with pinpoint accuracy who will hit the ground running with offensive coordinator Chip Kelly.”
New Orleans Saints
While it has been considered likely that Sanders will go at the top of the NFL Draft, recent pushback — especially at the NFL Combine — challenged this notion. If Sanders does slip, the New Orleans Saints are viable in the Shedeur Sanders sweepstakes.
With the aggression teams have shown in acquiring veteran quarterbacks, if Tennessee chooses to go the Abdul Carter route, there is a chance Sanders falls; if he does, the Saints should welcome him with open arms.
It is unclear how long Derek Carr will be with the Saints. Whether extended or not, injuries are certainly a major concern for the veteran quarterback. David Bearman of PFSN believes Sanders fits in perfectly.
“Sanders becomes the QB-in-waiting for an oft-injured Derek Carr and can jump right in should Carr have another injury-filled season,” Bearman said in his 2025 NFL Mock Draft in March.
Since Drew Brees’ final year, New Orleans has needed a reset. With a new potential franchise quarterback at the helm, they might finally have the chance to make it a reality.
“The Saints are going to need a complete rebuild with aging players and no cap space. Starting at QB isn’t the worst idea, especially when Sanders falls to this spot in the draft.”
