4x Super Bowl Champion Names Surprising AFC Team That Can Wreak Havoc in the Playoffs

One four-time Super Bowl champion heaped praise on an ascending AFC team, predicting an electric performance in the 2024 playoffs.

This season, the Jim Harbaugh-led Los Angeles Chargers are turning heads with their electric performances. They have an overall record of 8-4 ahead of their Week 14 showdown against the defending champs, the Kansas City Chiefs.

Harbaugh took the franchise’s reins after winning the 2023-2024 National Championship with Michigan and is now making a name for himself in the league by possibly securing a spot in the playoffs.

Recently, four-time Super Bowl champ Rob Gronkowski couldn’t stop raving about the team’s qualities that make it a real playoff contender.

4x Super Bowl Champ Rob Gronkowski Heaps Praise on the Los Angeles Chargers

During the latest segment on the “Up and Adams Show,” Gronkowski praised the Chargers and shared that he believes Harbaugh and his crew can cause some serious damage in the playoffs.

He emphasized that Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert has started understanding his role and what his head coach wants from him. He also noted that the team is becoming more explosive on the offensive side of the ball each passing week, making it the perfect situation, thanks to their strong defense.

Gronkowski stated, “There’s a team that I believe can do some damage in the playoffs, and that’s the Chargers. I love what they’re doing. There’s no doubt about that. They have a solid defense. They’re scoring points on the defensive side of the ball. They’re creating turnovers, they’re doing all that good stuff, but the offense, they were struggling at first.

“Still, they’re coming through, and Justin Herbert is starting to understand what Harbaugh wants out of him, and they’re becoming more explosive every week on the offensive side of the ball. And when you’re that explosive with that type of defense, you can do damage, you know, when it comes to the playoffs.”

After a slow couple of games, Herbert has grabbed momentum with full force, securing 200+ passing yards in six of the last eight games.

The Chargers QB has also leveled with NFL legend Tom Brady by entering the “10 games, no interceptions” club, becoming only the third player in history to do so.

The Chiefs, who are currently 11-1, will play the Chargers in Week 14 at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City.
