The No. 1 seed San Francisco 49ers are set to host the No. 3 seed Detroit Lions on Sunday in the NFC Championship Game with a trip to the Super Bowl on the line. Two historic franchises are set to square off and compete for the ultimate prize in Las Vegas two weeks from now.
For the 49ers, this is a chance to get over the hump in a game and an atmosphere they’re already very familiar with. They were unsuccessful in this game last season as injuries and other factors cost them a chance to advance to the Super Bowl. However, a new year brings a new opportunity to pick up where they left off and finish the job.
On the contrary, this is relatively unfamiliar territory for the Lions, as they hadn’t won a playoff game in 32 years before this season and have never made it to the Super Bowl during their lengthy history. None of the past transgressions matter to head coach Dan Campbell, however. His current team looks to write a new chapter in this historic franchise.
With so much at stake between these teams, fans will surely be locked into all the action. How can you listen to the game and where do you need to tune in?
