49ers Star Gives 4-Word Recruiting Pitch to Myles Garrett After All-Pro Requests Trade From Browns

Myles Garrett sent the football world ablaze on Monday by requesting a trade from the Cleveland Browns. The reigning Defensive Player of the Year is not content with the direction Cleveland is headed and wants to play for a championship contender.

The San Francisco 49ers are one of the teams expected to make an offer for Garrett. While anticipation mounts, cornerback Deommodore Lenoir got a jump on the recruiting trail.

Deommodore Lenoir Invites Myles Garrett to San Francisco 49ers With Epic Recruiting Pitch

Shortly after Garrett officially requested his trade from the Browns, Lenoir highlighted the nicknames of himself and some of his teammates in a post on X and asked the explosive defensive end what nickname he wanted for himself with the 49ers.

The cornerback doubled down on his pitch and shared a four-word message for Garrett on his Instagram story as well.

“Let’s get a Ring @flash_garrett,” he wrote, directly addressing Garrett’s desire to play for a Super Bowl contender.

The 49ers have been looking for an edge rusher to complement Nick Bosa, and Garrett, who is viewed as the league’s best edge rusher, could be the perfect fit. However, to acquire him, San Francisco will possibly have to part with multiple first-round picks. The Browns, who remain adamant about keeping Garrett, finished ninth in PFN’s Defense+ metric in 2024 — despite their 3-14 fate.

While the Detroit Lions, Buffalo Bills, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers are some of the other teams Garrett may land, his decision will heavily rest upon where he thinks he has the best chance of winning the Super Bowl.

Garrett, 29, made it clear in his statement that he intended to win a championship, and if that meant leaving Cleveland, so be it.

“As a kid dreaming of the NFL, all I focused on was the ultimate goal of winning a Super Bowl — and that goal fuels me today more than ever. My love for the community of Northeast Ohio and the incredible fan base of the Cleveland Browns has made this one of the toughest decisions of my life. These past eight years have shaped me into the man that I am today.”

“While I’ve loved calling the city my home, my desire to win and compete on the biggest stages won’t allow me to be complacent. The goal was never to go from Cleveland to Canton, it has always been to compete for and win a Super Bowl. With that in mind, I have requested to be traded from the Cleveland Browns.”

Since entering the NFL, Garrett has been to six Pro Bowls and has already tallied 102.5 sacks. Additionally, he’s made six All-Pro teams, including four first-team selections, and led the team to two postseason appearances. He’ll hope to fare better in the playoffs with his next team.
