Christian McCaffrey suffered a non-contact injury in the Sunday Night Football game against the Buffalo Bills. The San Francisco 49ers’ star running back got hurt in the second quarter of the game and hobbled to the sideline without assistance.
He was evaluated in the blue tent and later went to the team’s locker room. He is currently listed as questionable to return due to a left knee injury, but the injury looked quite serious.
49ers Fans React to Christian McCaffrey’s Injury vs. Bills
McCaffrey missed the first eight games of the season due to Achilles issues and didn’t look the same in the three games that he played before tonight. He had a solid start in the ongoing game against the Bills, as he rushed for 53 yards on seven carries before getting hurt.
Unfortunately, injuries have haunted the 49ers throughout this year, and now one of their best players could face a lengthy spell on the sideline. Here’s how fans reacted to McCaffrey’s injury:

Another fan added, “That looks so bad, man. His adrenaline carried him, otherwise, he was done.”
“Can’t catch a break this year,” said a fan about the 49ers star.
There goes the season. Hope he can recover from this.

These types of non-contact injuries are usually related to the ACL or Achilles, but fans hope that McCaffrey has avoided such a serious injury.
The 49ers are 5-6 on the season, and a loss against the Bills tonight will make their playoff push a Herculean effort.
McCaffrey averaged a career-low 3.5 yards per carry in the three games he played before tonight. It would be better for him to take the necessary time off and get ready for next season.
Bills Lead 21-3 at Halftime on SNF
The Bills have completely dominated the 49ers on Sunday Night Football. At the time of writing, Buffalo led 21-3 at halftime and was heading toward its seventh straight win.
Since the game was played in snowy conditions, the running backs on both teams had a productive first half. Jordan Mason, who played quite well in McCaffrey’s absence at the start of the season, rushed for 62 yards on seven carries in the first half.
James Cook had nine carries for 100 yards for the Bills, and he scored a 65-yard touchdown as well. Ray Davis also scored a touchdown for Buffalo, finishing the first half with three carries for 19 yards.
Brock Purdy was uncertain to play in Week 13 due to a shoulder injury but was eventually cleared by the team. Josh Allen outplayed him in the first half as the 49ers quarterback completed 7/9 of his throws for 52 yards, while the Bills star threw for 97 yards and a touchdown while completing 80% of his throws.
