Odell Beckham Jr., much like every other NFL fan who tuned into the NFC Championship Game, was wowed by Philadelphia Eagles RB Saquon Barkley’s exploits as the running back tallied 118 rushing yards and three touchdowns on just 15 carries.
Odell Beckham Jr. Sends Special Message to Saquon Barkley
Barkley started the day off hot for the Eagles, housing a 60-yard first-down run on a pitch from Jalen Hurts. Once the running back got the angle to reach the edge, he proved to be impossible to bring down despite making contact with three tacklers.

The day only got better for Eagles fans as the game went on. Their lead stayed at 10 points or above for most of it, as the Commanders committed turnover after turnover. Jayden Daniels himself threw an interception, while Washington’s skill players had three crucial fumbles at various points in the game.
The game was effectively over after Philadelphia made good on their first drive of the fourth quarter. Barkley put the nail in the coffin with the Eagles’ penultimate touchdown, taking the score to 48-23 at that point.
Beckham, who was Barkley’s teammate with the New York Giants during the Penn State product’s rookie year in the league, is overjoyed after his mentee’s breakthrough season with the Eagles. He posted a reel with the caption: “You deserve everything u getting bruda @saquon.”

Barkley’s 2024 season has served as a confirmation of the running back’s pedigree as one of the greatest talents in the modern game. He tallied 2,005 rushing yards during the regular season through 16 games, and he had the rushing record in his sights had the Eagles not rested their starters in Week 18.
The 27-year-old has tallied a whopping 442 playoff rushing yards through their games against the Packers, Rams, and Commanders. He became the first player in NFL history to have more than one 60-yard touchdown in a single playoff stretch — Barkley had two against the Rams and one in the NFC Championship Game.
His combined tally of 2,447 rushing yards in 2024 is only 29 yards shy of Terrell Davis’ record. In addition, Barkley is only two yards shy of Davis’ scrimmage yards record of 2,762 from his 1998 season with Denver.
Barkley will almost surely make history on Super Bowl Sunday if he takes the field against the Chiefs. It will be a doubly sweet day for the seventh-year running back as it will also be his 28th birthday.
