Who Is Part of the Broadcast Crew for the 2023 Shrine Bowl?
Rhett Lewis, Play-by-Play
The color analyst for Indiana Football and former host of NFLAM on NFL Network, Rhett Lewis, is set to host the play-by-play calls for the 2023 Shrine Bowl. Lewis now features on NFL Now, NFL Total Access, and Path to the Draft for NFL Network, as well as his duties for Indiana’s radio coverage of the Hoosiers football program.
Bucky Brooks, Analyst
Five-year NFL veteran and co-host of Move the Sticks podcast Bucky Brooks is set to call the Shrine Bowl as the featured analyst in the booth again. Brooks was a second-round pick in 1994 and spent five years in the NFL.
Brooks now features on multiple NFL Network shows, but his co-hosting duties on Move the Sticks with Daniel Jeremiah is certainly his most notable program. Brooks joined NFL Network in 2009.
Cynthia Frelund, Field Analyst
Known as NFL Media’s first analytics expert, Cynthia Frelund will be on the field once again for NFL Network’s coverage of the Shrine Bowl. Frelund appears on a variety of NFL Network programs throughout the year, but most notably every Friday on NFL GameDay View.
A Michigan native, Frelund was a finance analyst for the NFL and a Predictive Analytics Analyst for ESPN before joining NFL Network.
Mike Yam, Reporter
Mike Yam joins the broadcast as an additional reporter, having spent the entire week covering the Shrine Bowl for NFL Network. Yam, a published author, is an anchor for the Network and also a SiriusXM host.
Notably, a Fordham grad, Yam’s coverage includes deep dives into player backgrounds, investigative reports, and much more.
