2023 NFL Draft Small School Prospect to Watch: Princeton WR Andrei Iosivas

Princeton WR Andrei Iosivas is the Week 6 small school prospect to watch for the 2023 NFL Draft after kicking 2022 off on a career-year pace.

Get to know this name: Andrei Iosivas.

The 2023 NFL Draft, like every draft, will be sure to feature names that even the most affluent draft expert will surely miss. This comes naturally with the territory of watching tape and analyzing over 200 schools worth of prospects nationwide. At Pro Football Network, we aim to alleviate some of those misses with our weekly look at a smaller school prospect who is sure to turn heads in scouting circles come April.

Princeton WR Andrei Iosivas Brings Talent to the 2023 NFL Draft

Often, small school prospects fly under the radar. If you play for an Ivy League school, chances are you’re flying lower than most. Andrei Iosivas is a low-flying next-level prospect from the Ivy League’s Princeton University who is sure to start getting more and more attention as we move through the draft process.

Princeton’s Iosivas is actually a track star from Hawaii, still honing his craft on the gridiron. The senior has next-level size at 6’3″ and 205 pounds and legitimate home-run-hitting speed. From a track and field perspective, Iosivas has timed 6.71 seconds in the 60-meter indoor sprint – that translates to a 40-yard dash time of 4.22 seconds.

He’s not just a fast guy but a terrific athlete and a multi-event performer who competes in both the pentathlon and decathlon. Iosivas is expected to broach the 40-inch mark in the vertical jump at Combine and/or pro day workouts.

But what about his football skills? They are improving daily.

Iosivas went from 18 receptions and 263 receiving yards as a sophomore in 2019 to 41 catches, 703 yards, and five touchdowns a year ago. In three games this season, he’s posted 18 receptions, 258 yards, and three touchdowns, a pace that would result in a career year.

The senior translates his speed and athleticism onto the football field. He quickly gets off the snap and immediately gets to top speed. Iosivas is a solid route runner, quickly getting in and out of breaks and losing no momentum on exit. He lays out for the difficult catch, makes the reception on crossing patterns, and consistently catches the ball with his hands.

He does a great job tracking deep passes and adjusting to errant passes when necessary. Iosivas does not always come away with those difficult receptions, and his run-after-the-catch ability is average.

Still, the Ivy League prospect has the size and speed that next-level decision-makers want in a developmental prospect. If he continues to produce in 2022, he will be selected in the late rounds of the 2023 NFL Draft.
