Who Are the Top Edge Defenders in the 2023 NFL Draft?
There are over 100 eligible EDGE prospects in the 2023 NFL Draft, ranging from the Power Five level, to the FCS, to Division II. It’s always a talent-dense position, but this year’s group of edge rushers is particularly large and wide-ranging in player types.
Will Anderson Jr. is widely regarded as the top EDGE prospect in the 2023 NFL Draft class, but he has competition. Myles Murphy, Tyree Wilson, Isaiah Foskey, Lukas Van Ness, and Nolan Smith are just a few who’ve occupied the first round in mock drafts alongside Anderson.
The names don’t stop there. Prospects like BJ Ojulari, Derick Hall, Keion White, Felix Anudike-Uzomah, Andre Carter II, Isaiah McGuire, Tuli Tuipulotu, and others add volume to the early rounds. And it’s entirely possible that one or two prospects from that group cracks the first round.
The 2023 NFL Draft EDGE group will satisfy demand in the later rounds, just as it will in the early rounds. Shrine Bowl standouts like Ochaun Mathis, Ikenna Enechukwu, Titus Leo, and Yasir Abdullah represent some of the options that will be available in the Day 3 range for general managers.
