Which QBs Should You Draft in 2023?
Justin Fields, Chicago Bears
Justin Fields became the third QB in NFL history to rush for over 1,000 yards in a season. What is even more remarkable is he accomplished that feat by a comfortable margin in just 15 games.
After a slow start last year, Fields would go on an absolute tear in the middle of the season. He put together a streak of eight consecutive games with a top-eight QB finish.

Fields’ rushing production during that stretch was special. He averaged 88 yards rushing per game and scored seven rushing TDs. When you throw in his 11 TDs and 1,471 yards through the air during that stretch, he had a final tally of 2,182 total yards and 18 TDs.
Now, Fields has a true go-to WR in DJ Moore. If Fields takes the next step as a passer while maintaining even close to his rushing floor from last season, he has a QB1 overall finish well within the range of outcomes.
Brock Purdy, San Francisco 49ers
A magical run at the end of the 2022 regular season ended in tragedy for Brock Purdy in the NFC Championship Game, suffering a torn UCL and putting his status for being the Week 1 starter for the 2023 campaign.
However, Purdy has once again defied the odds and is in line to begin the season as the 49ers’ starting QB. While some are likely to be skeptical of his impressive five-game sample size as the starting quarterback, Purdy really showcased a high fantasy floor.
He registered 2+ passing TDs and never finished lower than the fantasy QB14 in any of his five starts in 2022. The fact that Purdy is the QB22 off the board right now means you would be drafting a quarterback with the best slate of weapons in the league below the floor he showed us last season.
Doesn’t make much sense, right? Don’t miss out on the draft-day bargain and target Purdy late in your fantasy drafts.
