    2022 Senior Bowl Coaching Staff

The 2022 Reese’s Senior Bowl will officially be coached by the Detroit Lions and New York Jets. Both teams own top-10 first-round selections and have history in Mobile. Detroit was last involved in this role just two years ago while New York last coached at the Senior Bowl in 1979.

In addition to the coaching staff announcements, Reese’s Senior Bowl Executive Director Jim Nagy announced changes to the event for staffers. For the first time, the head coaches will serve in more of an advisory role. They’ll promote their assistants into leadership roles on the staff. The move is geared to allow those positional coaches chances at developmental opportunities to showcase their own coaching abilities.

Further changes also include the addition of four coaches from Historically Black Colleges and Universities. Coaches will be selected to take part in the minority fellowship program and will be involved in all facets of the event from on-field coaching to nightly staff evaluations.

Nagy had this to say on the changes and the coaching staff additions:

“The Senior Bowl greatly appreciates our longstanding relationship with the National Football League and we thank NFL Football Operations Executive Vice President Troy Vincent for again providing our game with full coaching staffs. Dan Campbell and Robert Saleh’s staffs will bring great intensity to our game week and our players will undoubtedly get better during their time in Mobile. Our leadership is committed to using our game’s unique platform inspire change and we are excited about opportunities the new staffing model will create.”
