2022 NFL Mock Draft | Round 2, Picks 48-64
Who rounds out the second round of this 2022 NFL Mock Draft?
48) Chicago Bears: Bernhard Raimann, OT, Central Michigan
Having snagged their wide receiver at No. 39, the Bears address the offensive line with their second pick in this 2022 NFL Mock Draft. A former tight end who transitioned to offensive tackle, Bernhard Raimann has played predominantly left tackle for Central Michigan. However, he has the athleticism, flexibility, and strength to hold down the right tackle spot in the NFL.
49) New Orleans Saints: Matt Corral, QB, Ole Miss
One of the more memorable teams of the first round, the New Orleans Saints moved around the board but still came away with a starting left tackle and wide receiver. While their offseason QB moves might suggest they won’t take a passer in this draft, having a player of Matt Corral‘s upside available in the second round might prove too good an opportunity to pass up.
50) Kansas City Chiefs: John Metchie III, WR, Alabama
The Kansas City Chiefs were expected to land a Tyreek Hill-type replacement in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft but left with outstanding CB and EDGE prospects. Alabama WR John Metchie III gives them a playmaker who might not have Hill’s speed but is certainly no slouch.
51) Philadelphia Eagles: Tariq Woolen, CB, UTSA
After landing the gargantuan heart of their defensive line in Jordan Davis and trading for A.J. Brown, the Philadelphia Eagles fill a need in the secondary with the selection of Tariq Woolen. A long, tall cornerback with elite athletic traits, Woolen is a former wide receiver who showcases prowess at the catch point and is on an upward trajectory.
52) Pittsburgh Steelers: David Ojabo, EDGE, Michigan
With no offensive tackle or wide receiver that the Pittsburgh Steelers might feel comfortable taking here, they take the best player available in the form of Michigan’s David Ojabo. An Achilles injury suffered during the Michigan Pro Day sees the hyper-athletic and devastatingly impactful pass rusher fall into the clutches of the Steelers, who pair him with T.J. Watt.
53) Green Bay Packers: Jalen Tolbert, WR, South Alabama
Having unexpectedly eschewed a pass rusher in Round 1, the Green Bay Packers snag South Alabama WR Jalen Tolbert as a new go-to threat for Aaron Rodgers. He’s a size/speed threat who showcases some excellent route-running savvy while posing a danger both at the catch point and after it.
54) New England Patriots: DeMarvin Leal, DL, Texas A&M
Having surprised with their selection of Cole Strange, the New England Patriots continue to do the unexpected in this 2022 NFL Mock Draft. While not a particular need, DeMarvin Leal is the sort of player that Bill Belichick can extract the most out of. He’s able to provide a pass-rush threat both around the outside track and from the interior of the defensive line.
55) Arizona Cardinals: Breece Hall, RB, Iowa State
Having garnered first-round attention, Breece Hall becomes the first running back off the board late in the second round of this 2022 NFL Mock Draft. An explosive threat who showcases excellent elusiveness, Hall is also a threat in the passing game as an extra weapon for quarterback Kyler Murray.
56) Dallas Cowboys: Arnold Ebiketie, EDGE, Penn State
A surprise faller having garnered first-round attention, the Dallas Cowboys get a bargain in this 2022 NFL Mock Draft in Arnold Ebiketie. An explosive playmaker who possesses violent hands, excellent bend, and a phenomenal athletic profile, the Penn State product can replace Randy Gregory as a dominant pass rusher for the Cowboys.
57) Buffalo Bills: Kenneth Walker III, RB, Michigan State
A contender for the first RB off the board, the Buffalo Bills strike for Michigan State running back Kenneth Walker III. His ability to be physical while also having excellent burst, long speed, and the ability to cut without a discernible drop-off in top speed make Walker a dangerous weapon for a Bills team that is shaping up to be unstoppable.
58) Atlanta Falcons: Myjai Sanders, EDGE, Cincinnati
The Falcons surprised by passing on an EDGE prospect in favor of Drake London in Round 1. However, they still manage to secure a productive pass-rush threat in the form of Cincinnati’s Myjai Sanders. Long, explosive, and bendy, Sanders can be a danger for offenses in the NFL for years to come.
59) Green Bay Packers: Jalen Pitre, S, Baylor
A do-it-all safety who plays the game much bigger than his listed size, Baylor’s Jalen Pitre has the versatility to play anywhere across the secondary. A dangerous blitzer, he’s also impressive in coverage with great processing speed, positioning, route-recognition ability, and the ball skills to capitalize at the catch point.
60) Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Drake Jackson, EDGE, USC
Continuing to bolster their defense in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft, the Buccaneers select USC pass rusher Drake Jackson. With an intriguing mix of size, athleticism, and pass-rush tools, Jackson can become the long-term answer opposite Joe Tryon to become a fearsome duo in the NFL.
61) San Francisco 49ers: Roger McCreary, CB, Auburn
Once considered a potential first-round pick, Roger McCreary slides into the second round, potentially due to his sub-optimal measured length. However, the San Francisco 49ers snag an impactful playmaker who possesses the play speed to go toe-to-toe with any receiver in the NFL. Despite the length question marks, he’s impactful at the catch point.
62) Kansas City Chiefs: Logan Hall, DT, Houston
Adding George Karlaftis late in the first round, the Chiefs return to the defensive front in this 2022 NFL Mock Draft with the selection of Logan Hall. He has the explosion and power — and more importantly, the frame to support a minor muscle gain — to make the full-time switch to the interior, where he’d be a frankly devastating pass-rush threat.
63) Cincinnati Bengals: Zyon McCollum, CB, Sam Houston State
While this is a potential landing spot for one of the first tight ends, the Cincinnati Bengals’ lack of quality at the cornerback position leads them to make further additions to the secondary. Zyon McCollum boasts size, length, and the athleticism to weaponize those assets to devastating effect as a ball-hawking CB prospect who plays with fire against the run.
64) Denver Broncos: Abraham Lucas, OT, Washington State
Having secured their quarterback of the future before the draft, finding long-term protection poses one of the key business points for the Denver Broncos. One of the few natural right tackles in this range, Abraham Lucas gives Denver an experienced, athletic tackle who famously handled himself with aplomb against fifth overall selection Kayvon Thibodeaux.
