Schulte’s 3-round 2021 NFL Mock Draft | Round Two
33. New York Jets: Patrick Jones II, EDGE, Pitt
34. New York Giants: Josh Myers, OC, Ohio State
The Giants have been rolling out Nick Gates at center. Also worth noting that the Giants are allowing an astronomical pressure rate of almost 50%. Coincidence? Maybe, maybe not.
The point is, they need to continue to stack bodies on that offensive line. After addressing the tackle spot earlier in this 3-round 2021 NFL mock draft, their attention turns to the interior.
35. Jacksonville Jaguars: Pat Freiermuth, TE, Penn State
36. Atlanta Falcons: Tyson Campbell, CB, Georgia
While the Falcons’ secondary hasn’t been as bad as it seems, they still need to add talent to the unit. Former second-round pick Isaiah Oliver hasn’t panned out for the team so far, and the Falcons have to get guys to cover the bevy of talent the NFC South boasts.
37. Cincinnati Bengals: Trey Smith, OG, Tennessee
38. Jacksonville Jaguars (via MIN): Chris Olave, WR, Ohio State
In this 3-round 2021 NFL mock draft, the Jaguars bring Justin Fields his favorite target from college. DJ Chark is a stud receiver for the Jaguars, but the rest of the team’s receivers have been inconsistent at best.
The trio of Chark, Olave, and Shenault to pair with Fields and the aforementioned Pat Freiermuth would be as exciting a passing attack as there is in the NFL.
39. Miami Dolphins (via HOU): Nick Bolton, LB, Missouri
40. Dallas Cowboys: Jay Tufele, DT, USC
The Cowboys interior defensive line has been arguably the worst position group in the NFL. They need to add talent in a big way upfront to clean up blocks for their linebackers and to generate a pass rush to bail out their secondary.
Jay Tufele opted out of the 2020 season but is a stout presence who can play both 1T and 3T at an NFL-caliber level.
41. Washington Football Team: Christian Darrisaw, OT, Virginia Tech
42. Los Angeles Chargers: Sam Cosmi, OT, Texas
Continuing to build up the offensive line to protect Justin Herbert, the Chargers invest in their long-term left tackle. Cosmi is an athletic tackle that the NFL tends to love, with next-level quickness. He needs more seasoning with his mechanics, however, but he is a better option than what the Chargers are playing with now.
43. Denver Broncos: Jevon Holland, S, Oregon
44. New England Patriots: Mac Jones, QB, Alabama
Even the most pro-Cam Newton analyst out there would have a tough time justifying an extension for Cam with the way he has played this season. The alternative of Jarrett Stidham isn’t that appealing, either. The Patriots have to address the position at some point, and what better way to do that than a quarterback who has set college football on fire this season with his level of play.
Jones isn’t the most physically gifted quarterback in the draft, but his mental makeup and traits point are better than anyone else at this point.
45. Carolina Panthers: Dillon Radunz, OT, North Dakota State
46. Detroit Lions: Amon-Ra St. Brown, WR, USC
The Lions have almost every receiver set to hit free agency, including superstar Kenny Golladay and reliable vet Marvin Jones. Chances are they won’t bring back most of them, which will allow them to pay Golladay and add additional free agents.
Thus, they need to hit on this talented 2021 receiver class to replenish their offense. Amon-Ra St. Brown is one of the most underrated receivers in this 3-round 2021 NFL mock draft.
47. Miami Dolphins: Joe Tryon, EDGE, Washington
48. Las Vegas Raiders: Christian Barmore, DT, Alabama
Continuing to build the defensive line has to be a priority for the Raiders, especially after a disappointing start to the season from recent free agent signing Maliek Collins and youngster Maurice Hurst. They have to continue to bolster their interior pass rush in particular. Barmore has slipped a little this year due to some inconsistent play, but his upside is tremendous.
49. San Francisco 49ers: Travis Etienne, RB, Clemson
Finally, the first running back is off the board in this 3-round 2021 NFL mock draft. The 49ers have been maligned with injuries in their running back room, and four of their backs are impending free agents. With all the injuries, it’s hard to envision the 49ers’ front office spending their already limited cap on bringing any of them back.
Travis Etienne on the 49ers would be a seamless fit, and allow head coach Kyle Shanahan to once more dissect defenses with the running game.
50. Chicago Bears: Kyle Trask, QB, Florida
51. Philadelphia Eagles: Eric Stokes, CB, Georgia
52. Indianapolis Colts: Jackson Carman, OT, Clemson
Long-time anchor Anthony Castonzo has started to decline somewhat as he’s gotten older, and he’s already been hurt this season. He’ll only have one more year left on his deal after this season. The Colts need an option behind Castonzo to be his eventual replacement.
Carman does need some refinement, but he brings about a physical style of play that the Colts have built their brand on under head coach Frank Reich
53. Arizona Cardinals: Najee Harris, RB, Alabama
54. Cleveland Browns: Joshua Kaindoh, EDGE, Florida State
The Browns continue to bolster their defense in this 3-round 2021 NFL mock draft by taking an incredibly toolsy pass-rusher to pair with their other incredibly toolsy pass rusher. Olivier Vernon is an impending free agent, and it doesn’t sound like he’s coming back to Cleveland after this season.
Kaindoh is one of the most bendy and athletic freaks at the edge rusher position and fits in with the 4-3 defense Joe Woods is running.
55. New Orleans Saints: Jaylen Twyman, DT, Pitt
56. Buffalo Bills: Brevin Jordan, TE, Miami
Continuing to build around Josh Allen, the Bills take a flexible tight end option to replace Tyler Kroft in the offseason. Dawson Knox hasn’t quite lived up to expectations yet, and the Bills need a reliable target at this spot. Brevin Jordan is excellent value here in the second round and might be the steal of this 3-round 2021 NFL mock draft.
57. Los Angeles Rams: Joseph Ossai, EDGE, Texas
58. Baltimore Ravens: Tyler Linderbaum, Center, Iowa
Without Marshal Yanda, the Ravens’ interior offensive line has been poor at best this season. On top of that, starting center Matt Skura is an impending free agent and likely isn’t back on the team next season. They need to invest in a long-term lineman to plug the center of their offensive line.
59. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Levi Onwuzurike, DT, Washington
60. Tennessee Titans: Asante Samuel Jr., CB, Florida State
While the Titans have Adoree Jackson and Kristian Fulton, both have missed time this season. In their absence, Malcolm Butler and Johnathan Joseph have stepped up, but the Titans’ pass defense is a clear liability thus far. The team needs an additional young presence in their secondary rotation.
61. Seattle Seahawks: Jalen Mayfield, OT, Michigan
62. Pittsburgh Steelers: Teven Jenkins, OT, Oklahoma State
The Steelers have both Alejandro Villanueva and Matt Feiler set to be free agents with limited cap space available to sign both. Luckily, this offensive tackle class is pretty talented. Jenkins can play both left and right tackle at a high level, which gives the team some flexibility to replace either tackle.
63. Green Bay Packers: Elijah Molden, CB, Washington
64. Kansas City Chiefs: Derion Kendrick, CB, Clemson
The Chiefs have a clear emphasis on speed in their team, and Kendrick fits the bill. A former 5-star WR turned CB, Kendrick is one of the fastest corners in the country. His speed and playmaking in man coverage will appeal to many teams.
With Bashaud Breeland and Charvarius Ward set to hit free agency, the Chiefs will need to restock their corner room.
