What makes the 2020 NFL Draft Wide Receiver Class Special?

    Tee Higgins, Clemson

The first thing you notice when you watch Tee Higgins is the tremendous size he possesses. Standing at 6’4″ tall, Higgins towers over opposing defensive backs. He offers tremendous length, which when paired with his mentality to attack the football while it is in the air, allows him to excel when it comes to the contested catch.

Higgins comes from a basketball background, which is evident when you will see him box-out defenders to haul in a pass. He possesses a good blend of size, speed, and athleticism, which allows him to make big plays down the field.

While Higgins seems like a surefire first-round selection in the 2020 NFL draft, he does come with some concerns. He is not a polished route-runner by any means, and the Clemson offensive scheme doesn’t require him to do much work in the middle of the field. Most of his damage is caused on the outside. With that said, teams looking for a big-bodied receiver such as the Green Bay Packers would love to get their hands on a player the caliber of Tee Higgins.
