    Round 15: Damien Harris

Harris has an opening with the latest Michel injury

Damien Harris had a silent rookie season after being drafted in the third round by the Patriots in the 2019 NFL Draft. Harris only played in two preseason games in 2019, producing a combined 111 yards from scrimmage.

He disappeared during the regular season, however, making the Patriots active roster on just two of a possible 17 weeks with a surprising healthy scratch 13 times. Belichick typically doesn’t like to play rookies, but to this extreme was drastic and mysterious to Patriots fans and fantasy owners.

News broke out last month that Sony Michel had foot surgery in May and is questionable for the start of training camp. Does this open the door for Harris to step up and make it a competition?

    Harris’ fantasy analysis

Harris was outstanding at Alabama, setting an Alabama career record with 6.4 yards per rush. Unfortunately, he has not yet received the opportunity to see what he can do in the NFL.

The Patriots have a crowded backfield with the likes of Michel, passing back extraordinaire James White, and the versatile Rex Burkhead. The injury situation with Michel should provide Harris the extended opportunity to earn more touches.

New England has a strong offensive line and will look to pound the ball, believing that their defense can keep them in games. Taking a minimal risk here that Harris can seize the moment is worth this investment.

    Round 16: Jamison Crowder

Crowder is a sneaky PPR selection

Dynasty owners can never have enough wide receivers on their roster, so I took another receiver in the New York Jets’ Jamison Crowder.

In his first season with the Jets, Crowder established himself as Sam Darnold’s security blanket, leading the team with 78 catches and 122 targets (26 more than any other Jet). Crowder also posted 833 yards, six touchdowns, and a 63.9 percent catch rate.

    Crowder’s fantasy analysis

Crowder is one of the better slot receivers in the league. The key to his success, like most receivers, is the health of Darnold, who has an injury history that has to be taken into account by fantasy owners.

The Jets have two new receivers for Darnold to throw to in free-agent signee Breshad Perriman and 2020 second-round pick Denzel Mims. The team is also hoping for the return of Le’Veon Bell to anything similar to the player he was in Pittsburgh.

Crowder, who scored touchdowns in six of the last nine games, assumes the number one receiver job going into 2020. If Darnold can stay healthy, look for Crowder to surpass 1,000 yards receiving with the offense opening up in Adam Gase’s offense. Crowder is a viable fantasy asset that is perfect for filling in during bye weeks or injuries.

    Round 17: Boston Scott

    Scott’s fantasy analysis

I want to make Mr. Irrelevant of my dynasty SuperFlex mock draft a player who is a deep sleeper that could shock some fantasy owners if given the opportunity. My Mr. Irrelevant is Philadelphia Eagles running back Boston Scott. Scott is the number two running back in Philadelphia behind Miles Sanders.

He produced five touchdowns last season after seeing an increase in playing time down the stretch. He has value in deeper PPR leagues, and if Sanders were to miss time, Scott would be a top waiver consideration as an RB2 in fantasy. Why not take a shot here?
