CeeDee Lamb could be a top 5 fantasy WR in a few years
As I mentioned earlier, selecting two different positions to kick off my draft allowed me to be more flexible with each of my further selections. After four rounds of my dynasty SuperFlex mock draft, I have two running backs (Mixon and Dobbins) and two wide receivers (Godwin and Ridley), which permitted me to go in any direction with my next selection.
With two top 15 wide receivers already on my roster, I wanted to commit to another young wideout. I selected the dynamic Dallas Cowboys wide receiver, CeeDee Lamb, with my fifth-round pick.
Lamb’s Fantasy Analysis
The Cowboys had several more immediate needs to tackle with their first pick in the 2020 NFL Draft instead of receiver. However, Lamb was still on the board when the Cowboys were going to make the 17th pick and decided to go with best player available.
As a junior last season, Lamb recorded 62 receptions for 1,327 yards plus 15 combined touchdowns in 14 games. Lamb was considered one of the best players at his position.

The Cowboys’ WR depth chart already includes Amari Cooper, who just signed a massive five-year, $100 million contract extension, and Michael Gallup, who is coming off his first 1,000-yard season.
Over the off-season, Dallas lost slot receiver Randall Cobb, gadget receiver Tavon Austin, and tight end Jason Witten, who accounted for 190 targets and 1,534 yards last season, collectively. Lamb provides another explosive player for Prescott, who finally signed his franchise tender this past week.
The Cowboys have the most explosive wide receiver trio in league with Lamb taking over the slot receiver role. Combining them with running back Ezekiel Elliott, the RB3 heading into the 2020 season, with Prescott at the helm, and this Dallas offense looks downright lethal.
Lamb should surpass the numbers of the departed Cobb, who hauled in 55 catches for 828 yards and three touchdowns in 2020. This season will be the first step in his ascension to being the WR1 in Dallas.
Round 6: RB Kareem Hunt
Kareem Hunt's ranks among RBs in receiving stats from Weeks 10-17 last year:
Routes run: 9th
Targets: 6th
Receptions: T-4th
Yards: 3rd
PPR points (receiving only): 6th— Graham Barfield (@GrahamBarfield) June 17, 2020
Hunt is a worthy PPR option
I could have ended up going in multiple directions with this selection. I thought long and hard on Mark Andrews but couldn’t bite the bullet on selecting a tight end this early (well early for me, that is). Since I just chose a wide receiver, I didn’t want to choose another one here, but I had my eyes on Tyler Boyd.
I finally decided to take a player that I also selected for my bench in my first dynasty SuperFlex mock draft, Browns’ running back Kareem Hunt.
Hunt’s Fantasy Analysis
In the eight games that Hunt played for the Browns last season, he produced at an RB2 pace in PPR formats. He played at least 54 percent of the snaps in all eight games he played in and over 60 percent in four of the last five. Hunt finished the 2019 season with 179 rushing yards and two touchdowns along with 37 receptions for 285 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Hunt provides value as a standalone flex option in PPR leagues and is an obvious handcuff to Chubb, who finished with 1,494 rushing yards and eight combined touchdowns last season. If anything were to happen to Chubb, Hunt would be a top-five fantasy running back.
Cleveland improved their offense with the off-season additions of right tackle Jack Conklin and the aforementioned Hooper. Hunt has a role in this offense, and he could even see action lined up in the slot.
I foresee Hunt producing 1,000 total yards, including 50-plus receptions and eight total touchdowns. That type of production from your third running back allows fantasy managers the ability to seek improvements at other positions throughout their roster.

Round 7: QB Matthew Stafford
#Lions QB Matthew Stafford — Played in eight games last season.
His numbers through Week 9…
• 20.8 fantasy points per game
• 10.8 air yards per attempt
• 19 TD passes (No.2 in the NFL)
• 2,499 pass yardsCurrent ADP = QB13 @NFLMatchup pic.twitter.com/UKAMGEs4Do

Stafford is poised for a bounce-back season
I was hoping wide receiver Robert Woods or one of the young signal-callers Drew Lock or Tua Tagovailoa would fall to my selections. Unfortunately, I struck out on those wishes. Being that this a SuperFlex league, I know it is imperative to secure productive quarterbacks, and even at this point in the draft, I believe I came up with an undervalued quarterback in Matthew Stafford.
Stafford is currently ranked as the 19th quarterback in our Dynasty SuperFlex Rankings. I realize that Stafford is not the ideal dynasty quarterback as the former Bulldog is entering his 12th NFL season. However, dynasty owners should always view their rosters in two-three year windows. I could see Stafford producing at a fantasy level conducive to performing at a playoff level for my dynasty roster.
Stafford’s Fantasy Analysis
In his first season with offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell, Stafford was on pace to produce his best numbers since 2011. Through eight games last season, Stafford passed for 2,499 yards, 19 touchdowns, and a 64.3 completion percentage.
He missed the second half of the season due to a back injury. The Detroit Lions didn’t win a single game without Stafford under center.
Stafford is medically cleared to get back on the football field when training camp opens up. He has already started to throw the football around with teammates.
The former first overall selection in the 2009 NFL Draft is one of the best deep passers in the league. The Lions possess better overall offensive talent than any point in Stafford’s career. Kenny Golladay is the WR13 in our Dynasty SuperFlex Rankings and is coming off consecutive 1,000-yard seasons. Marvin Jones scored nine touchdowns last season despite playing in only 13 games due to injury. A healthy Jones combined with slot receiver Danny Amendola and the young impressive tight end T.J. Hockenson will create nightmares for opposing defensive coordinators.

A critical detriment to the Lions offense has been the lacking of a consistent ground game. After a promising rookie season, Kerryon Johnson missed eight games last season due to a knee injury. The Lions were concerned enough about his status that they spent a second-round pick on Georgia running back D’Andre Swift. Swift will challenge Johnson for the featured back role, but at minimum, form a tandem with Johnson to create a threat in the backfield and open up the offense to a more significant extent.
The more I dive into Stafford’s fantasy outlook, the more I am buying that he can continue where he left off last season and reside in the top five fantasy quarterbacks in 2020.
Round 8: QB Ryan Tannehill
Ryan Tannehill Is a Superb Value in Fantasy Football https://t.co/ODpcSnDHUz
— numberFire NFL (@numberFire_NFL) June 12, 2020
Tannehill is the long-term solution in Tennessee
Admittedly, I am nervous about this selection. I was looking at drafting another signal-caller, and I typically utilize the wait on quarterbacks strategy throughout my fantasy years, which has worked out well so far. However, the available quarterbacks were not appealing, so I went with the 2019 NFL Comeback Player of the Year in Tennessee Titans quarterback Ryan Tannehill.
Tannehill started the Titans’ final ten regular-season games and threw for 22 scores compared to only five interceptions. He also ran for four scores and led the Titans to the AFC Championship Game.
His turnaround might scream one-year wonder and raise red flags for fantasy owners everywhere. I can’t blame them. It’s doubtful that Tannehill can and will play at the level again in 2020, but…
Tannehill’s Fantasy Analysis
One of the most appealing aspects of Tannehill is job security. There is zero talent behind him in the quarterback room, and he will have the entire season to work with a talented supporting cast.
He has emerging pass-catching options in wide receiver A.J. Brown and tight end Jonnu Smith. Tannehill has an elite offensive line despite losing right tackle Jack Conklin. Of course, he has the NFL rushing leader Derrick Henry in the backfield, who will keep defenses honest. Henry provides ample opportunities for play-action and rollouts in which Tannehill excels.
Tannehill is a game manager who could still reside in the top 12 fantasy quarterbacks, but just in case, I will need to draft insurance later at quarterback.
