Jerry Jones Seems To Miss Sarcasm From Eagles Fan

The Cowboys’ biggest rival is the Philadelphia Eagles — these two teams have a long and storied history. They compete every season, and it is always an exciting game for fans of both teams.

There is no doubt that Eagles fans want nothing more than for the Cowboys to fail. So, they have been happy watching the Cowboys fall apart this season after their success last year. The Cowboys will miss the playoffs this season for the first time since 2020.

Ahead of the Cowboys game against the Eagles in Week 17, Jones appeared on 105.3 The Fan to talk about the team. He shared an interesting interaction he had with an Eagles fan today. The fan said:

“Keep doing the job you’re doing this year.”

If this comment came from a Cowboys fan, Jones could take it in a positive manner. However, coming from an Eagles fan, it is clearly meant to be an insult. The fan is happy that Jones is involved with the team’s management.

As part of the interview with 105.3 The Fan, Jones also discussed some of the mistakes he made before this season. He admitted that it was shortsighted of him to think the offensive line would not miss a beat after using two rookie offensive linemen to replace veterans from last season.

However, it is unclear if Jones will follow his own advice for next season. He has always been heavily involved in the team’s operations. He is passionate about the team winning and wants to see them win a Super Bowl.

Jones Continues To Build Net Worth and Cowboys Valuation Despite Losses

Jones amassed his fortune in oil drilling with the Arkansas-based company Jones Oil and Land Lease. He struck oil in 12 of his first 13 wells, with the first yielding $4 million in oil, according to the book “The Dallas Cowboys: The Outrageous History of the Biggest, Loudest, Most Hated, Best Loved Football Team in America.”

In 1989, Jones bought the Cowboys for $150 million, and today, the franchise is worth $11 billion — the highest valuation of any sports team in the world. Jones has become one of the most powerful (and polarizing) owners in sports.

According to CNBC, “Today, the average NFL team is worth $6.49 billion, representing major returns for league owners. Among the factors driving up values this year are big-money media deals, sponsorship revenue, and non-NFL events at team stadiums, including Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour.

“Along with this year’s list, we look at how the Dallas Cowboys went from losing $1 million a month to becoming the NFL’s most valuable franchise at $11 billion.”

As CNBC states, the Cowboys are officially valued at $11 billion, comfortably in first place ahead of the No. 2 franchise, the Los Angeles Rams, which are valued at a healthy $8 billion.

Dallas has held the top spot for the 18th time in a row, a feat in any business sector, never mind one as volatile as the sports world.
